Now, mind you - I don't drink anymore - BUT, I do remember what BYOB means.
A girl came in yesterday and she carries in two dozen roses, white with pink edges and actually very nice looking to the naked eye. She looks at me and says, I brought my own flowers & I just want to buy some greens and baby's breath and wrap them up here before I go home and give them to her (giving them to her neighbor).
She happens to be a nearby neighbor to us and she happens to work at the grocery store in town that she got the flowers from.
If it wasn't for the fact that the girl (her neighbor) she was giving them to is such a dear, sweet gal that has been our customer for years and years I would have been quite offended at what she did.
She spent $3 bucks and I made her do it all herself. She was happy to do it, but during the whole thing I don't think she had a clue that what she did was in any way inappropriate. I told her she was not allowed to bring our name into it, but Rosey (the recipient neighbor gal) knows us enough to know our flower quality, anyway.
So what does she think - florists have an invisible sign hanging out that says BYOF? BRING YOUR OWN FLOWERS!
Time to close and go eat. Red Lobster here we come.
