Is anyone going to Canada Blooms? My other half, Jane (ok, Ryan, better half), has been bugging me to go "up along" to Canada Blooms March 12-16 in TO so we're wondering who's goin', what suggestions you can make about what to take in etc. We're planning to spend a couple of days at the show as well as meet some suppliers who we only know by phone, meet some of our florist friends as well as see if we can disrupt Ryan's routine!!!!!
Any and all suggestions would be really appreciated!http://www.canadablooms.com/

Hugh,

We usually do a couple pieces for Canada Blooms each year. It's a worthwhile show to attend.

Ryan

P.S. - I have a routine??????????????

Hugh...it's worthwhile to go. By March my eyes are hungry for the colours, sounds and scents of spring...they get fed well there. :) I also enjoyed and learned from the flower demonstrations they had.

Take comfortable shoes! A camera is good to have also. Boy I may even make the short trek down just to meet you guys!

Also make sure that your flower supplier know you are comming and make sure they treat you to supper also.
Really nice hotels by the airport also.
TRavellodge is nice and has a pool and rest on the premisses.
Of course there others also.
Gee it is almost worth my trip going down also and we can go all out for supper at the Mandarin Chinesse place...
Mmmmmmmmm or other suggestion >??/

Looking forward to meeting any of you guys who'll be around TO then; Luc I've already warned my suppliers I'm coming; I've been doing this buying thing since 1976 in Montreal and TO so I've gotten that down pat!!! I think we'll be going down to Hy's :) at least one night maybe Mervish's steak house another, we'll see!!
I am looking for a supplier or two who has WICKED prices on some Christmas orn and some everyday home decor product. Someone suggested Tuzzy Muzzy, any more?

:) :) The trip to blooms is really worth it. Loved your display last year ( Martins) During the week of Blooms you can see a tour of the enclosed gardens on home and garden television , it is repeated several times that week and then if an area is really lined up you can decide whether to skip it or come back.Great to go around 4 pm as all the bus tours have usually wound up by then and then the crowd moves a little faster. It is definately aroma therapy as you ride down the escalator into the show! The web site for the show is a great place to sart if you have never been. If you want to get in on the daily workshops do so early in the day as they fill up reallu quick. Most of all wear your sneakers!

Oh yeah, one more thing, take a lunch, eat before you go etc. Eating while you are there is very time consuming and expensive . Line ups are really long . :(

Thank you Missy for your words of wisdom on the subject .
Also welcome aboard on this fantastic chat board. Your help is always welcome.
