So...in an inflationary environment we raise interest rates to cool off the economy.

In a deflationary environment...OOPS!!

Can't lower interest rates any lower, now can we?

It's still going to be an "un-fun" next 12 months, don't you think?

yep, even here in Ottawa, which is traditionally a very stable cityeconomically, things are cooling down huge. We've seen drastic drops in spending...could be because our town is completely sabatoged by construction...my street will be closed to traffic for 5 months, while they install new sewers.
There is no answer except that no one hitches their wagon to a loser, so as far as anyone knows, we are doing GREAT! (Thank God for phone orders)
