Is there such a thing? Because, one of our State Association directors was contacted by an attorney representing this "Board". He was researching State Associations in the US and contacting them for a joining of the Canadian Associations and State Associations to fight Order Gatherers. He made the statements:
1. There was beaucoup bucks behind the Canadian board to fight OG's
2. Our US State Associations seem to have 16 active Associations and has had a hard time connecting with some associations current Presidents or board members due to non-up to date web sites.
3. A banding together to educate the public as well as possible litigation against the OG's
4. The wire services involvement encouraging such practices.

I'd be interested to know who this lawyer is, if he contacts me I'll forward the info to those interested (our website does have my contact email), has anyone else been contacted? I have a couple of people to call to see if he contacted those whose names were dropped during that conversation.

If anyone here's from the, point 'em to Floristdetective.com ;)

As far as I know ....

the only national floriculture association we have is Flowers Canada Retail (head office is in Ontario) .... the executive director is Arman Patel. I can give you his info if you need it or I can pass on your info.

I've never heard of it either.

There are times I've been confused between Flowers Canada, Flowers Canada Ontario and Flowers Canada Retails, but I have never heard of a "Canadian National Floral Board".

Think that this may have been one of our board members

who on behalf of Flowers Canada Retail, talking to all boards and associations across the US, Canada and Europe trying to find out how to fight against the phony florists and order gatherers. Just had a teleconference call about it today ....

Pam, if you have an email or such for him, I would be the one to contact for the MSF&GA (Maine State Florists' & Growers' Association). Yes, we have pushed for legislation and got it passed but that's about as far as it goes..
I'd like to hear what he has to say.
