I contacted my rep from Teleflora regarding canceling the website, Dove system maintenance, quality program and some of the ad listings. I still haven't heard from him and I want to start the ball rolling as I know cancellation isn't imminent and may take up to 60 days. How could I speed things up? The rep possibly doesn't want me to cancel hence the delay. Should I send letters to each department?

i've actually never had any luck when trying to cancel services with my rep. go figure. i've called teleflora directly each time which gets the ball rolling. they eventually call you back confirming the cancellations.

Yes. Send letters via certified mail to the Directory dept and to Web services (if you have a website). The specific addresses are listed under Rule and Regulations in the Teleflora Resource Guide.
They will tell you that you are obligated to remain 'live' with them until you are out of the Directory. Unless you've already given them notice to drop you from the directory I think you are committed through July. You should chec the cut-off date for the next Directory asap.
You really need to do the certified letters if you want everything to go smoothly.

Write, fax, e-mail, certified, registered, whatever it takes to make a paper trail to choke a poor horse. Also keep track of the names of people you've spoken with... as well as dates and times of conversations. Don't leave anything to chance.

another "lost" end point!!
Please be very sure you want to do this....not criticizing, but, many shops "fail" when not enough thought has been put into the shop "model".
If you've "prepared", then, congratulations are in order, for your decision!!

Certified letter is a definite! Also, do you know who your regional sales VP is? In the Northeast it's Rick Davis. You can send an email to Rick and ask if he is responsible for Florida, and if not, to forward your request to the FL Regional VP. Email address to anyone at Teleflora is (first initial+last [email protected]) EX: [email protected]

Please know that someone in charge of "saving accounts" will call you and offer you free dues, fees, etc. for several months to stay with them. My opinion is that if you are unhappy with them now, it ain't gonna get much better in 3 or 6 months, even with the freebies.

Good luck, keep on it, keep emailing and calling until you get a real response from them.

you might want to re-think cancelling dove support....2 times this year have pick up a virus....took support 3 hours each time to fix problem....

Was it a virus through your internet connection or via DOVE?

I m not so concerned if it's PC related, I can deal with that. I am also thinking about running DOVE on a seperate computer to eliminate all chances of getting infected...unless teleflora decides to send my a virus through their network for fun!:itchy:

I am also setting up my own website so I don't have to pay to TF for the orders I get for the website I pay for!:)

Make sure you have your website ready to go.

Teleflora should give you a way to forward your domain to the new hosting company. I believe they still us Network Solutions for domain stuff.

I would start by just removing those extra listings. Its amazing to see how many shops in our area list their shop in our city. When your talking about 10 or 15 shops it really doesn’t make any sense especially since your fighting over incoming orders.

Just make sure you are ready with your new website. I see way to many florist abandoning their website URLs and that’s just not a good thing.

While the advice here is good, please go to your Teleflora directory and follow the instructions for cancelling your service EXACTLY and you will likely have no issues.

You will be required to send a letter for cancellation of the wire service, one for Dove and one for POS support and likely one for your website. In the past they have all gone to different addresses, be sure you send yours appropriately and send them certified return receipt requested as others have adviced.

If you miss a step and don't do it properly you can be held liable for charges.

I find it silly that a shop has to send mulitple letters to different departements. I know some will say that quitting TF was a piece of cake.
Not for us, we had no POS, or website and we sent the certified letter. We continued getting monthly (ever expanding) bills for over a year before we got it cleared up. Members are dropping like rats jumping off a sinking ship. Wonder why?

It is very hard to provide quality products through Teleflora when you net only 20% for flowers after deducting all other costs. That is $20 out of $100 spent on the product, no wonder people think the flower business is a rip off.
So my rep told me that I would just have to increase my orders so the net % for flowers would increase. Well, I wouldn't be in business if I didn't know basic math but the bottom line is TF is not sending me more orders to help me. In order to generate more revenue I have to spend more money on my own advertising (for wire out) and time to try to persuade and liaise with order gatherers (for wire in). To me it is so much more cost effective to just cancel some services that I don't need.
