Welcome! Enjoy FC!

Hi and thanks for your interest in the community. Thank you also for answering the questions on the Intro page.

I see you work from home now. I'm I correct in assuming you run a full service shop with all the bells, whistles and taxes incurred in business ownership?

I do appreciate your time.

Pumping this, hoping for answers to V's questions.

Hum........no replies

BTW, in my previous post, that should have said, bumping, not pumping. I do proofread, but not well enough apparently.

Yes, I do run a shop with all the bells and whistles and I pay all taxes and licenses that I always have. Nothing has changed except my location. I'm a bit shocked by some of the reply's to my request for membership concerning my "home based" business. Perhaps I don't belong here. I'm an open minded person and working from my home studio works for me. Three storms stemming from Katrina damaged my business and sent me home. We do what we have to do to survive. I can't see how that makes me less of a florist but if I'm not welcome here, I won't stay. Thanks anyway.

Chapmack, by my count there was actually one one response that apparently shocked you... mine. From what I see it was certainly not asked in an offensive way.

I have no problem with home based businesses as long as they are professional operations with licenses and taxes. I ask the question because this community is a place for professionals, not hobbyists.

I thank you for answering the questions posed... it does make it easier for the members to vote intelligently.

Regards.

I have been in business for 30 years so I am not a hobbiest. My partner is a Florida State Master Designer and has also been in the business for 30 years plus. When I first clicked on tonight, a list of "voters" popped up and there were a couple negative responses to the fact that we are working from home - not just your message. We are professionals and pay for all licenses and taxes. I meant no disrespect to you or anyone else.

Thanks for responding. You are a registered member so you are able to travel the community at will. Enjoy and share.

Hope you didn't take offense as there are home based businesses that are full fledged such as yours...I began in a shop in my home also.
But we ask such questions to keep those who decide they want to "play with flowers" and come here to find out how to...Most are not looking to be an honest to goodness real florist who pays business taxes, insurances, etc just like those of us who have worked so hard to educate ourselves and present a Professional attitude and work ethic.
Welcome aboard........
We hope to hear more from you and your experiences...
Sorry about your original location but good that you could return to a shop in your home. (I keep mine just in case something happens to our downtown rental space)
