Not really looking for anything floral here, just some ideas maybe. Around here, people throw open houses for their HS grads either in their homes/garages/backyards or rent a small social facility. I usually don't do non-floral centerpieces because that's just not my "thing," but the grad's mom lives across the street so I can't say NO!

It could be windy/rainy--ya never know! Eight tables. Half can be tall (I'm thinking mylar balloon attached to attractive weight or embellish the weight a little). The other half I'm not sure. They need to have some weight in case it's a little breezy. I'm thinking something with squares of mylar paper picked into foam with little foil star garland, but that seems so ordinary/has been (not that we need anything upscale here, but I'm just looking for something different).

A thought that just occurred to me is to have the mom get me some photos I can copy and possibly laminate and discreetly glue to looped piece of deco wire (like a photo holder) and incorporate them into the centerpieces somehow, and then maybe tape some pictures directly to the table in a scattered fashion down the middle. (Pictures from babyhood to present.)

Any ideas out there?

Take those same photos & wedge them into a glass cube, or glass shorty cylinder. Tape in your balloon & add wide curly ribbon, or fill with loose wrapped candies, snacks .....

I had seen the photo idea on some website a while ago - it's an easy way to personalize a cube or glass container. I thought it was very clever.

We painted clay flower pots in school colors, added twists of mylar and tissue picked into stryofoam, and photos--glued (or double-stick taped) to chenille stems + stong wire, also inserted into the foam.
