Cherry Branch season is coming soon!

Does anyone use Cherry Blossom branch? We love it in DC, we have our own festival in honor. I was wondering if anyone else uses it. Here are some shots of the last Cherry Blossom wedding we did at the Corcoran Gallery last spring.

Although messy and tricky to get it to just the right maturity, it is really quite stunning. This bride loved it so much she wanted the blossom as the entire theme. Very darling couple that met while strolling along the basin during the cherry tree showing.

This Chuppah we made consisted of only 40 branches of Cherry, but look how glorious it turned out.

Thanks,
It's all Cherry branch I cris-crossed into a grid and attached to a wire support. I use light gauged cable. I use pipe and drape hardware for my Chuppahs.

Loved it Thom!!!

We did an engagement party for a couple who both worked in DC that was all cherry blossoms. It was awesome!!! Although, the pics just did not do it justice.

I just got several bunches in this morning, along with some quince, forsythia and fantail willow. We are having a blooming branch sale.

I sure love it!!!!!

Again, beautiful!

Any special tips for working with Cherry branches? Haven't worked with it much, but would like to.

Yes I have a great tip. If you are using only Cherry in a vase of water, Pre design before you deliver. Bind the bouquet with twine and pull from the vase. Wrap in a and and bundle in a tarp. Tie of both ends. When you get to the site, fill your vases with clean water and add a cap full of bleach per 5 gallons of water. Cut the tarp and place branch back in the vase, cut the twine and fluff.

Cherry bark contains an acid that mucks the water quickly. If you tarp the cherry, you won't be picking up blooms from everywhere.

You need to get Cherry in at least 2 weeks before your event, and you have to baby it until the end. Once the bloom gets to about 75 %, throw it back in the refer to slow it. It really takes experience and trial and error. But it is marvelous and a real money maker.

Very nice!! Those can't be branches....must be limbs!! lol

Lucky enough to have apples and peaches in our orchard and dogwood grows wild in our mountains. Love using them all. Of coarse doesn't make hubby too happy.
