Hello Everyone,

I am trying to source the candelabra pictured in the attached centerpiece (from an ad in the Park Hyatt Chicago). Any leads?

This is a unique piece and the bride is thinking of having them made for her NY fall wedding, but it would be great if we could ship/rent them.

Thanks for your help!

Call the Park Hyatt in Chicago. Ask them who sells them.

On another note, they don't look very hard to make.(though the ones pictured look metal)

Make an 8-10" wooden base, same size for the 'shelf'. 1/2" wooden dowel drilled through the corners of both pieces, secured with wood glue and small nail going through the dowel.

Cover with any fabric you like.

If your bride knows a welder, she could have it made in metal. jenny

Call Jennifer from Exquisite Design in DC. She does this and it is fabulous. She makes her own. I've seen hers stand 8 feet tall on a table.

I looked at them at a ISES meeting once. She makes hers out of wood poles and rice paper.

You can also take your plans to a metal fabrication company or a fencing company that makes iron gating or even a iron artist in your area which I am shur there are tons. And see what they can do. It might be expensive up front, but after the first or second event they will pay for themselves. After that it is a profitable piece of arsenal to win events.

Good luck.

What am I thinking. I make Iron Chuppahs for people, pretty good ones at that. I can make these for you. Give me a call or email.

Here is a photo of the Chuppahs I make. I use ornate iron.

I believe that picture was taken in their restaurant, Nomi. I'd either call them and ask for their interior designer's number, or PM florapro here. He works for a place named Kehoe designs here in Chicago and they source all kinds of things like that.

If that doesn't work, try some of the lounge furniture rental companies, or event decor rental comapnies.

If I remember correctly, they are an iron frame with a sheer metal mesh around the top. They are SO much prettier in person, they sparkle!

I love the metal look. But in your design I'd consider the heat that all those candles give off so close to that material. Do you think each candle is in its own glass cyclinder or is it just open flame? I use to design with reckless abandonment until a senior FC'er taught me the virtues of foreseeing any kind of liability that might haunt me. JMHO

There would have to be some protective source on the candles. In Illinois we have a very strict fire code with regard to candles (you can't even light them unless they are 100% contained). I guess we are gun shy after the great Chicago fire (and this night club disaster of a few years ago).

Health & Safety is a huge issue now and we have restrictions on using naked flames anywhere .Too many accidents I suppose and some completely preventable .MArcy & Thom I just love your website too ,gorgeous well done !.Best of wishes for Valentines Day everyone.
