Chocolate Fountains

Attended a business gathering at the Summit Club (one of the most exclusive venues in town), put on by Southern Bride Mag.

One of the vendors was a co. that rents Chocolate Fountains. It was very unique, sort of a chocolate fondue with all sorts of fruit and goodies to coat with the very delicious chocolate pumped up through the center and flowing down evenly around the circular levels. The start up (Jan 05) company is very busy with Weddings and events booked into 06.

Interesting. Not much to do with flowers, unless you have some you would like to eat, but very interesting.

The fountain manufacturers are all over the net.

Same thing set-up at the Riverwalk Cafe at the Gaylord in Dallas for the FTD Convention.

Flowerchild gave me the info on where to buy these things and I did a little research. What I concluded was, we are already so buys doing the flower set up, I am not going to stay around for the wedding or pay some kid for how much they rent for vs how much they cost in Southern Oregon. Plus in Oregon and in general, the west coast, wedding cost average is A LOT lower than the east coast or the south.

The guy I talk to who has one here in Southern Oregon said they are a pain to clean and maintain too. The woman who was selling them said it's easy to clean. Whether she wants the sale or he wants to keep competition down, I have no idea. In the end, I came to the conclusion, I don't have the time or the 3K to buy one of these cool fountains.

The lady, forgot the name, who was selling them was quite helpful and a delight to talk with. Maybe Flowerchild can post her info.

I love these things...I agree they are a bit pricey to purchase, but for a shop in a busy area with a lot of wedding biz, it would pay for itself in no time. Especially, if you are the only one in your area that carries them. Here is the link of the supplier....

I know a florist about 1.5 hours away in a smaller city who has had one for 4 or 5 years that they rent out with their services. If you wanted to talk to her just let me know and I would pass on her name and number. I know it is very expensive to rent one out and they send someone to man it while rented.
