Hi everyone, I'm Claudia and I work for Pacific Basket Company. The website is www.pacificbasketco.com Although it's a gift basket company, after having so many requests for flower arrangements, the company decided to add flowers to the business and I am in charge of that section. (The new website with our floral designs will be ready in the next few weeks)
I finished my floral design program in Uruguay and I have been in floral industry since I moved to Canada, for about 4 years.
I heard about your forum through a Facebook group.
I hope to share ideas, get advice and be helpful to others as well.
We operate from a commercial building

Hi Claudia. I am familiar with Pacific Basket Company and your part of Canada. :)

I have a question. You are planning on offering flowers on your site. Do you make the arrangements and send them out from your location or will it strictly be an on-line operation much like the basket end?

Thank you all for your replies! Victoria, we will be offering a few flower arrangements through our website. Just like the baskets, they will also be made in the warehouse and we will offer local delivery only. I really don't know if it's gonna work but we have to try and see what happens.
 
Thanks Claudia for clearing that concern up for us. I gather then the requests for floral on your website came from local customers.

Hi Amy!

The current website is very old. It was made from scratch by Flavia, one of the owners and all the photos, graphics and the entire site is still maintained by her. All the changes you see week after week are all made by her. However, after 8 years is a lot of work and it's time to change. The new site should be ready soon (hopefully for Mother's Day!). That new site will have the new category of "Flowers" which the new ones doesn't have. Adding that category to the current site would be a lot of work so it's better to wait. Meanwhile it will give us time to set up the shop and let customers know about the new venture. The designs are pretty much set.
