Does anyone know if they are a dOG? Received an order for tomorrow's delivery & wondered if they are a legit shop or not. My first instinct is no, they are just a phone bank, but I didn't find any reference to them on our OG list. Thanks for your responses.

I thought Coasttocoast.com was a part of Beneva's. And if so, yes a legitimate shop but not so truthful on the internet.

He sold it a couple years ago to Durbins, as Sher said.

The admin contact address (the same one listed as the 'Network's' address on the site) is for a PO Box at a Cinicinnati UPS Store. The technical contact is GravityFree, the developer of Beneva's sites. http://www.gravityfree.com/company/pressRelease.cfm?preID=156

It's one of Beneva's templates, which is why you see the petal points, and was transferred from Art to this group in May 2005. AdrianDurban.com and NationwideFlorist.com of Cincinnati are also from the same company.

CoasttoCoastflorist.com's national pay per click campaigns often promote delivery in under four hours.

There are couple things done really well on this site that other OGs lack. Upon clicking many of the designs, a pop-up box appears stating "Due to the limited available quantity of this item, we may need to replace it with a similar item or product". In order to proceed, the customer must click 'Yes'. On tropicals and other not-always-available designs, a clear message says "NOTE: Due to the unique nature and limited availability of the pictured product, an extra day may be necessary for this item to be hand delivered."

The explanation of a $9.95 service fee being included in the prices shown is buried on the 'About Us' page but on balance, the site is more up front about not being your local florist than most.

Just my .02.

A-OK according to Florist Detective...

When Order Gathering Does Work

Does order gathering have a legitimate role? Certainly. Some consumers want a one-stop shop to handle all their floral needs, regardless of location. Most local florists actually provide those services, by the way. 'National' broker companies as well as local florists may offer occasion reminder services, consolidated billing, frequent purchaser discounts and rewards programs. In these cases, the consumers are getting exactly what they ask for and expect.

A story about grateful supporters sending 4500 Valentine's Day roses to California Senator Barbara Boxer recently made national news. CoasttoCoastFlorist.com, an affiliate marketer that also operates a real flower shop in Sarasota, Fl, was contacted by an individual about the idea of handling these 'thank you' orders, which would be phoned-in from all over the United States.

The Florist Detectives wrote to the idea’s originator and inquired about how and why she selected a Florida-based company to handle a delivery in the Washington, DC area. She replied that she originally found CoasttoCoastFlorist.com by Googling for 'national florist' and that their ad was the first name in the search engine results.

The Boxer-supporter stated that she was very pleased with both CoasttoCoastFlorist.com’ s level of customer service and their ability to handle the consolidation of an order on this scale. There are very few companies that could handle the volume of calls - more than 1500 - generated by this project, especially during the busy Valentine's Day holiday period. In this case, the gathering of orders was an appropriate decision, both on the part of the idea's originator and the affiliate marketer.
