I had a customer bring me in a bunch of these for her dinner party this Thursday and thought they were awesome...

We set up a little test, and dang if they did not stand up at almost a 45 degree angle, and sliding them across the counter they stood too. They're made by Peleg Design and her's were priced at $45.00 for a box of 5, although she did buy them at an art gallery in Houston...

The are aluminum and 1/2" by 1/2' by 9 inches tall....and have a 2"x2" metal plate that goes under the table cloth.

Anyone seen them? I have contacted the company regarding wholesale purchasing in the US, will let anyone interested know...

I've seen them on ebay before, and wondered if they worked like they said. I like the look, and they're just cool.

KEWL!!!

So Mark, do they hold water or are they just tubes? Inquiring minds want to know! And if they are water-tight, I think there is something about NOT using preservative because it reacts badly with metal.

cost of vases

emailed this morning--here's the answer

dear Bobbi,

thank you for your enquiry,

We are in a period of transition regarding our distribution in Nth America and at this time we are not holding stock in the USA.
Currently any orders to Nth America are shipping from our warehouse in Hong Kong.

the wholesale price of Peleg Design's Magnetic Vase (set of 5 poles/bases) is $16. Export carton contains 24 sets.
we do not have a min' order however we ask that you keep to Export Carton quantities.
if you let me know what is of interest and delivery address (inc. postal code), i can check availabilities and shipping cost for you or we can use your courier account # if you prefer.
note that we can only accept payment by bank transfer (T/T), prior to shipping

thanks and kind regards
Omri

Ok folks, I talked to Omri...

Yes, they do hold water, yes they come in several colors, minimum order is 24 SETS for shipping, still awaiting whether or not I can mix color a case or two. I did mention I may split cases and reship once they arrive (would be better if someone closer to a point of entry NY, FL, TX or CA) did this, but we'll see.

Right now I am waiting on a total cost including freight. It sounds like it will be about $19.00/set including freight, but we'll see.

Shipping to my door is $156.00, for the first carton making them $22.50/set wholesale. Two cartons brings it down to $20.25, and three makes it $19.50.

Each carton weighs 10kg or 22 pounds....

Just an FYI...still thinking I need these~!

Would you be willing to distribute and send to all of us if we all piched in and agreed to buy x amount of sets?

Me too. Check or credit card? Don't forget you'll need the shipping expense from you to me. Although it looks like less than a pound per set in weight! Are you thinking of getting all of the colors? Huh. I just realized it's Friday, you're probably off to the woods.
