Please, please, please don't make this a political issue.

I was watching the news and saw Sarah Palin's speech last night. Someone had stuck (and I mean stuck) a corsage on her.

No wonder so many people don't want to wear corsages....it had no design and was huge and did nothing to compliment her outfit. It was even pinned on way to low.

That type of professional workmanship is what a lot of people see. What a shame....it hurts all of us in this industry. If they only could see a very tasteful corsage, it might even renew an old trend of wearing corsages.

Sarah could turn the tide for wearing corsages if they were well done someone.....someplace could find her schedule and offer to do flowers for her......hopefully wasillia florists do not have a franchise ! but
somes better than none ?

I did not see her -- but.. What a wasted opportunity. It is sad that someone had this chance to really show off a tasteful, well designed corsage and blew it!

Who is near her office? Any of us here? Someone needs to contact her people and offer her tasteful, and trendy corsages for all of her appearances.

I guess "beauty really is in the eye of the beholder"

When I am selling weddings almost every Brides mother makes a mention of those big gaudy corsages and asks me if we can do something else. So, I think the majority really prefer something tasteful. But, I will make those gaudy things all day if I can get the money for them.

That's the truth! I love homecoming mums! Because it's the
Second biggest money making holiday... next to Valentines!

And talk about GAUDY!!

Here's where my mind gets boggeled. For weddings and proms, I usually get requests for the sleeker floral jewelry look. Mother's day and Easter are a different story, if I don't make them huge and gaudy, then I get complaints. The people wearing the corsages are the same age and I know the customers ordering the corsages are even the same customers, so I just don't get it. I'm always glad to see any public figure wearing a corsage no matter how bad it looks. It makes people think of flowers.
I just wish once, we could get one on an actor on the red carpet at the oscars! wouldn't that be fab!

I had to find the video, so I could see what you where referring to.
Let me defend the woman for trying to have some class.
At least she is wearing flowers. It could be a big ugly brooch
She's supporting an industry in her attempt to have some class.
While large and kinda old-fashioned in style, it is still flowers.
She is probably wearing it low so it doesn't get tangled in her hair. I noticed it is right below where her hair is.
And we can't expect her to be too trendy and ahead of the times, you know She is a Republican. so a traditional conservative corsage is very fitting.

I was glad to see her wearing flowers. However, cooler speak today... "did you see that thing Palin was wearing in her fare thee well speech?"

It was indeed hideous.

that's because we know better.......the average customerknow from ------ ! I've been appaled by some corsages i've seen being worn (not mine !)

now if michelle would endorse flowers as she does fashion stores/designers we would have it made ! she could at least wear one pinned to a cocktail purse ! Maybe no one ever thought to send her one !
