Could It Be True, Really?

I've heard that some florists who have wire service websites are finding Drop Ship Items showing up on their website.

Could that be possible, deliberate, not just a "mistake"?

If so, WOW.

FTD websites for sure.....I have talk to two of my friends that have them and say they deal with complaints all the time, because of delivery issues and quality....not sure why either don't opt out..

Possible Yes, Deliberate Yes, a mistake NO.

Rumor has it that the practice is being investigated !
Did I say Rumor ?
"There could be an issue" with a paid for, Florist/Member/WS website that advertises product that is unavailable or not offered by the florist footing the pricey tab.
"Direct conflict of interest" is the quote that I heard.

Also mentioned was the way the whole thing is designed, with clear malice directed to paying members that are otherwise deceived into thinking that an entity is representing their best interests.
Accepting payment from a large group to accumulate revenue to finance a project that undermines the very existence of that group
lends to the alleged belief that financing such project/s are deceptive and misleading for the sole purpose of personal / corporate gain.

Some in the know say that the fine print will not protect them if and when a story goes public as it will be obvious that " Intent was present " to undermine the businesses of participating, paying members.

As I've heard, the whole thing rests heavily upon credible paying members to take the issue/s to the forefront and supposedly the list is growing.

Heard yesterday that an investigative report is on the table, but not yet authorized, by a credible media entity.
If it clears, though I doubt it, it would enable the agency to accurately report on the exact way the system works.

IMHO consumers would lose it if they knew, however, if handled improperly, all could suffer, especially in this economy.

Glad you brought this up Tom.

:fdevil:

Far as I know, florists have the option of offering the DS items on their sites, with the orders going direct to the various shippers...hard gifts, cheese cakes, moon pies....

I think it's up to the florist to opt out/in (I think)

/ :fdevil:

That said, *IF* FTD is automatically adding these items...bad on them, if florists are not policing their sites bad on them.

They add and remove and reprice drop@@@@ stuff on the FTD sites all the time.

I don't care, never have sold one...

It is an opt out service....I believe that extratouch has the drop ship possibility, too. Can remember if that was opt in or out, though...I do remember trying it out and the very first order was a disaster and canceled it...Too much to worry about didn't like not being in control of the quality and/or the delivery. Too much to explain when things went wrong...

....not sure why either don't opt out..

Any FTD shop can go into the portal and remove them from there web site. I did. A while ago I opted in. Had to many troubles. Was concerned I was loosing local business at full value to get 20 percent or less.
