I really love the Countrypolitan look...you know...part Cosmopolitan, part Country, but, I can't seem to find any info on how to replicate this look. Can anyone help me with this? I know it's got to be more than just mixing high end baubles with ferns, berries and sticks. Thanks!

That's a term I have not heard. I think the closet look I can determine from your description is "Shabby chic" Try a google search on that and see what turns up.

Countrypolital is a word used with some designers in South and North Carolina, it is a little more sophisticated look than the Shabby Chic. From what I have seen it uses the items that have a country look, more old southern but with very clean lines. That is in room design, not sure about floral arrangements though. Most of the rooms I have seen like this have not had anything but natural grasses, ferns and branches.

If you find anything let us know.

Can you show us some examples please? It's a term that I don't know either. Would the style be featured in magazines such as Veranda or Southern Living?

Melrose International (a floral and home decor company) advertises this style in Florists Review Magazine. I've requested a catalogue but I was wondering if anyone here on FC had knowledge of this design style.

It is like an upscale, shabby chic but it's clean (less cluttered). I like it because it has a high end look but feels really comfortable, not stuffy.

I appreciate everyone's help. If you happen to get any ideas on this floral style, please let me know! Thanks everyone!:thumbsup

I don't have any pics except for the Melrose ads in Florists review, and I've only got 2 or 3 of those. I could try and scan those for you (is it legal?) if I can figure out my new scanner. I can work everything else on the darn thing...printer, copier...but not the scanner.

I Googled Countrypolitan floral designs but didn't come up with much. I'll keep trying!

The term I have heard used is "contemporary country" or "country chic" which refered to a more streamlined look...a little Crate and Barrell or Z~Gallerie or even Restoration Hardware for overall store looks. As far as the design aspects, I have only ever seen grasses and very natural designs (few or no flowers).

As for Melrose, as a vendor, I love them!!!! They have some great items! Their premade wreathes and silks are a little pricey, but they have GREAT online sales!!!!! They also ship SUPER fast. The rep (in my area at least) makes sure she tells you if your neighbor has ordered the same thing you are looking at (and vice versa).

I also love the look of that type of interior design, but haven't seen anything for floral design. For interior I've also seen it called "Urban Country" and "Sophisticated Country", it's not as cluttered as a "Shabby Chic" design, cleaner lines, but still comfortable.
