I am doing a large centerpiece that will be sitting on a pilsner vase. What do you all do to cover up the oasis on the bottom of the dish? I don't like how you can see the oasis. I was thinking of spraying the bottom of dish. What do you all do? And any other techniques other than chicken wire to secure the oasis? Thanks!

I've done lots of arrangements like this. I never cover the bottom. The arrangement is usually dripping down and you can't see the underside of the lomey anyway. However if I did want to cover it I imagine I'd uglu galax to the bottom of the lomey in a decorative pattern.

That's a good tip from Shannon. :)

You can also use a Lomey dish in black or white (instead of clear) or paint the inside of the clear dish before you add the foam. Metallics like silver, gold or copper adhere well.

Don't paint the bottom of the dishes. They usually scratch easily and can get marred during the design and/or delivery process.

They make some great colors and patterns of duct tape now. I have seen them covered in that and then designed in. The one I saw was done in a camo color it was really cool.

We also paint the inside of the loamy dish, usually silver, but sometimes dark brown, what ever we think will blend the best with the foliages. We pan glue our foam into loamy dishes and usually do not reuse them. Never had one fall out yet. U-glue holds the loamy dish to the pilsner. If I think that it might be windy we actually cut a piece of hard foam to fit inside the top of the pilsner (about 1" down), paint it and glue it to the bottom of the loamy dish. Think of it as a stopper. It is really secure!

Love this tip... thanks!

You can use U-glue or corsage glue to attach lemon leaf, spanish or sheet moss to the bottom of the lomi dish. I have used all of these methods because I am one of those people that when sitting at table under a tall centerpiece I look for floral mechanics:) I hope this helps.
