We are seeing more and more cremations we have FH on the same street as us about 2 blocks down really ‘specialize’ in them.

So we went over and chatted them up. Now they send us a really nice amount of families that want flowers for cremation services.

Well my designers are asking me to ask FC what do you all do for cremation work. My staff feels that we do not have enough selection to offer for cremations. I can’t say that I think they are wrong. However I am having trouble coming up with ideas. Can anyone help?

Info: We get mostly boxes tall (4”W, 5” L, 7”H) 2nd long ( 4”W, 8”L, 3” H) 3rd Urn

We currently do a ‘ring’, and a garland that is specifically for a cremation. Other than that we are selling traditional funeral work, which doesn’t go over as well.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Usually for cremation floral work I had pictures and candles in the mix. I would always ask if the person had hobbies and the like and would then incorporate that in to the design. Do that takes the "chill" from the air.

Yes, I like to incorporate the interests of the deceased in my work also. Actually doing an arrangement in work boots for this weekend. Last weekend it was a tool box (guy was a carpenter).
I usually ask what their interests were and try to work something around that...makes it more personal that way.

Sometimes the Funeral Home can be rather austere and chilly in atmosphere. The addition of pictures and uniquely designed flowers to reflect the person will warm up the place.
