Please help with suggestions to a huge family dilema. We are looking to holiday after xmas and can't agree on location. My 10 year old wants to go back to San Fran, My hubby to Canada, my 4 year old to see Mickey mouse and I just want a holiday to remember. Any suggestion welcome?

Been about 17 years since I saw Mickey and I have not admit the fun element does seem appealling- If we are heading to California then maybe we could combine Anaheim too and then their's also my aunt to see in Bakersfield...choices, choices...oh brain hurts again

Canada is a wonderful country....I'm biased of course, however, the weather can be SO very unpredictable, that you'd likely be "safe" at Disney in Florida, HOWEVER, IF your kids are NOT at least 8 or 9, they WON'T appreciate the park venues at Disney.
Just got off the phone with Sonia at FlowerBuyer, she just got back from San Fransisco, and would easily recommend you guys do San Fran again!!
Also, would you consider Costa Rica, that time of the year...it's absolutely kid friendly, and you will experience things that you cannot experience anywhere else on this planet!!

If it were me.

I would go to California that time of year. Mickey Mouse is in his short pants and Mickey Moose has his scarf wrapped around tight and his touque on.

I am surprised

Oh, Mikey I thought you'd big up Canada for me. Living in a county where you can have 4 seasons in one day the weather isn't too much of an issue although the warmer climate does appeal. My little concern with Canada is the fact I have so many family members between Hamilton and Scarborough that I'd probably visit alot of people and not explore as much.

Hadn't considered Costa Rica, thanks for the input will have to explore this further.

Disney Calif AND San Fran

Mikey, looking to the 27th December onwards for 10-14 days.
With that amount of time, I would do Disney Calif AND San Fran! Just catch a Southwest flight from John Wayne airport (I think that is the closest SW airport) to SF, rent a car and relax/sight see for 3-4 days, and fly back. With this, 2 of the 3 are happy.

Like the sound of that

Cheers, certainly leaning this way so far! Having experienced first hand the frantic driving in San Fran I sure hope it's a little calmer elsewhere.

Anaheim's a great place to visit that time of year.

Disneyland and California Adventure are busy due to the holidays so book your hotel early.

You all might also enjoy seeing the Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1 in Pasadena. (There are tours the few days leading up to the parade to watch these amazing floats being constructed.)

I also recommend the Universal Studios Tour and Theme Park to experience the magic of Hollywood.

Agree with Clay - you can hop on a Southwest flight and be in San Francisco in about an hour. OR the drive up the coast on Highway 1 is one of the most spectacular in the US. Santa Barbara, Big Sur, Monterey and Carmel are wonderful stops along the way although the kids may not be too impressed.

Would love to have you for a visit if you do choose Southern California. :)
