Would anyone care to share the mechanics of building these? It would be appreciated.

love the idea of these - maybe it's because it's dinner time, but that crystal looks an awful lot like linguini ........ love the mossy tree base!

I was thinking that silly string spray stuff in the can. That is until I read Tracy's post. Now I think pasta AND I want Italian for dinner.

These are amber glass chips in 12" strands, but any color or style of strands could be used.

Victoria,
Mine is made on a wreath stand without the hook at the top (weighted cast iron base with a metal rod). The rest is really a wire sculpture with heavy bendable rods for support. I took natural paper covered wire (about the size of clothes lines) in 6' strips, bundling 3 to 4 together and twisted it up the poll, leaving some extra at the bottom for roots and at the top for branching. I repeated the paper covered wire bundles 4 or 5 times up the poll, making branching branches. Finally added preserved moss for finishing details and to cover any mechanics that happen to remain exposed.

The first one took several hours to make, but after the designing part was established, I think they could be made from start to finish in 30 minutes to an hour.

In my opinion, it needs some sort of flower treatment to make it look complete, if only a couple bubble bowl arrangements at the base.

I believe we have sold the setups (rental) for several hundred dollars, including flower treatment.

This piece has been sitting on the table for several weeks. I only decided to photograph it when the setting sun shined on it making it really sparkle. My manager didn't like the photo because the branches didn't show well. Maybe he thought the crystals looked like linguine as well. When I have more time I'll re-shoot it.

There is a venue here that would be perfect for such trees. I LOVE these, beautiful!!

I am going to give a hand at making my own.

I have never heard of Panacea before. Is there a website or contact info you can pass on??
