Would like to know what others do in regards to the wire out cut-off time.

I know the TFTD rules both say 2pm is the cut-off time for same day delivery. OUR cut-off time for guaranteeing same-day delivery on a wire-out order is noon unless it's for a funeral and then we always call first and ask. Since we have been doing this we have eliminated a lot of problems. Many florists will not do same day after 12:00 I discovered, so I changed my rule to fit reality.

So what do you tell your customers and what to you guarantee your customers all regarding wire outs?

P.S. People crack me up. I am once again surprised at the aloof attitude of some "wait until the last minute to send flowers out of state people". Their ignorance causes me a LOT of extra time because of so many shops automatically rejecting orders or having phone off the hook syndrome. They are so clueless, so this year I decided to educate some of them. Next year I am going to single out the last-minuters and give them a deadline. My favorite is the lady who said, "Oh they'll take the order if they know it's from me".

I tell people that 1pm is the cut off during regular times, and for the last 4 days before holidays I tell them that I won't guarentee same day delivery that we will try, but it might be tomorrow.
So far no complaints from senders and even less problems with recieving shops.

FTD cutoff time is Noon in delivering time zone. We will accept orders until we feel we cannot get them done.

Today is the last day for garatee delivery for Christmas. Tomorrow if people come in, I won't garantee any out going because I am not sure of the other florist situation. Mostly will be open orders. As for receiving them, if the money is there we will make it and deliver it. Last delivery going out around 4, store closes at 5. I have seen myself delivering last minute not home people on Christmas eve later int he evening. Soft heart I guess...

Our cut off time is 12 pm in the receiving shop's time zone. If it's a funeral or something else on a time frame, we'll push to get that order out ASAP from here to the receiving shop.

At this point we don't guarantee delivery for Christmas out of town. We usually accept local delivery until about 1-2 p,m,

Be Realistic....

Mine was yesterday at NOON.

No guarantees after that time. I am NOT going to help make YOUR life more miserable.

I will try on sympathy work, but I will call the florist, not just Merc it out.

Like I said elsewhere, its the same day every year... NO EXCUSES !:beer

I was actually referring to the cut-off time on a normal non-holiday day. I know during a holiday all the rules change and sometimes drastically.

Officially we're open till 9:00 pm Christmas eve. I don't have anything else to do anyway but work or work related things.

I'll spend time on Christmas hoildays working with the web crew to get some things put together for 2004! Perhaps some Boxing Day sales also.

Depends on

Delivery location, but usually 4:00 for local deliveries, and 2:00 on wire outs, unless they are going west.
