I have a 3 yr old flower girl scheduled to carry a daisy pomander.

which would be better. Styro ball corsage pin the daisy (poms)
or oasis ball.

I am thinking lighter weight would be the stryo, but what about lasting ability. Wedding is 1pm sat, delivery is 10 am, pictures before.

I don't want to assemble ball on Saturday, would rather do it a thurs or Fri.

Thanks!!!!

I would do the oasis orb and "stem lock" the daisies the night before. For flower girl kissing balls, I usually use igloos and pop off the bottom...I like the plastic cage for added security when tying the ribbon. We also use a kitchen syringe (I don't know how to spell) to inject water into the pomander after it has been stem locked overnight.

Inka,

Just use the tiny oasis sphere. Soak it up Thursday am add your ribbon and daisies and then put some tissue paper in a delivery box and nestle the pomander on top of that. Hit it with some Hawaiian Floral Mist (or your favorite anti-transpirant)pop it in the cooler and it will look perfect on Saturday.

I did those huge pomanders (over two foot in diameter) three days in advance and they still looked perfect for a Saturday Wedding.

It will be fine and those daisies are so lightweight that the three year old will have no problem whirling it around the wedding ;)

I am going to pass along another idea for this. Take your tulle netting and make a series of old fashioned style corsage poufs.....bundle them together into a ball shape, glue the daisies in, spray with your favorite anti-transipirant, and off they go down the aisle.

Even with the most active hands.....it should not fall apart and it is so super-light weight, that even the most whiniest of three year olds should not complain about it being too heavy.

I agree with RWK. I make the pomanders out of tulling. I start like I'm making a bow with 6" tulling. then I end it with one long loop which becomes the handle. fasten it of with 26 gauge wire and cut the wire short and turn it into the tulle. Fluff out the loops and you have a pomander puff...glue the flowers in with oasis glue...it's very light and sturdy. I've seen one thrown at the ring bearer and it still didn't fall apart! PS try the new 6" Organza too...works just as well.

thanks everyone,

I am going to try the tulle option.

I have visions of a flying pomander winging its way over the guests at the wedding. :)

You can also make it out of ribbon, or the tulle w/ribbon. I like the added texture of ribbons mixed with the tulle. They're very light, and easy for the girls to carry.

pictures please!

That's exactly what we do!

We use the designette holder. It also has holes to run the ribbon through so you dont have to worry about it coming off.
