We have one near our interstate about 70 miles from me getting bigger and bigger. (not even close to this one but...)
It's on a river and they've built the dam across an inlet stream. It's backing up water along the interstate about 1/2 mile from the outlet into the river. No one traps beaver anymore due to the drop in prices for fur so they have become "river rats" and do huge destruction with their beaver made ponds and lakes. Dept of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife won't interfere until the very last minute... It's amazing what these industrious creatures can do.....
