Lucky bamboo is just the commercial name of dracaena. This name was translated from chinese, in chinese character lucky bamboo is 富贵竹， “富贵"= lucky, "竹"=bamboo, and their shape is similar to real bamboo, so business man named dracaena lucky bamboo in english.
