Hi to all. This is Richard at Country Garden Flowers in Bay City, Mi. I'm usually just an observer on the board and not an active participant like many of you. I'd like you to know that my wife Renee, her dad Louis Sylvester passed away over the weekend. This has been a real trying time for her, and she can really use the support of your thoughts and prayers. Renee is a lifer in this business, like myself. We all deal with death and dying everyday in the business that we're in, but when it happens in your own family, it's just so much harder to handle. What makes it worse is when the local wholesaler that you deal with on a regular basis, is not available, it starts to burn you. This has happened before too. I tried calling 5 different phone numbers after hours with no luck. I ended up going to a florist in Saginaw to get one thing, Sam's Club for another, and one of our fellow florists in our own town for the other. With their Fall open house coming up soon, Renee says she could care less if we go. I have to agree with her. Even if we end up paying more elsewhere, I don't think they deserve our business for now. Just trying to vent my (our) frustation. Anyhow, your prayers would sure be appreciated. Thanks to all.

Richard, please pass on my thoughts and prayers to Renee. So sorry for your loss. Venting is good! It's what "family" is for.

Prayers from Canada will be will you tonite for you, Renee and families.
It is better to vent here with family members that understand then venting with relatives or people who don't understand.
May the feeling of peace, be with your family.

Hi Richard: Sympathy and empathy go to you, Renee and your family.

Your wholesaler should be ashamed of him/herself for really rotten service (or lack thereof), so vent away... better out than in.

Just take care of eachother and the rest will wait.

We are thinking of you ....

during this sad time. Look after each other that is what family is about. And this is the best place to vent .... My sympathy.

Deepest sympathy to your wife and you as well. I think that the passing of any parent is difficult but especially for women who lose their Dads. There is always that special bond between Dads and their girls no matter what age. Please give her hug from all of us and let her know she will be in our prayers. She is fortunate to have a supportive husband like yourself. Blessing to all of you,
Sher

Thoughts and prayers on your loss, from NJ. Losing a parent makes you feel orphaned, no matter the age. Take comfort in the good wishes of friends, family and strangers - and keep your memories close to your heart.

There are many, many options out here for purchasing flowers - if your vendor does not realize that, and does not provide service to help keep his local shops spending money locally ....... perhaps it's best for you to look around, or at least keep it open as an option.

Renee, I lost my dad June 6, 2006. I miss him every minute of everyday. He was my hero. Please know that you are in my prayers. God's loving strength and presence have comforted and kept me going. God bless you.

Richard.... my thoughts and prayers to you and Renee... if there is anything I can do please remember I'm only 15 minutes away.

Next time your "in need" please do not hesitate to call, I generally have enough stock for a couple shops on hand.....

to Richard and Renee, and all your family,
Death on the "outside" is a normal function of life, death from within your hearts, is closer to reality, and somehow in this biz, we really DO have a difficult time separating the two.
To your family we offer our sincerest condolences, we offer our shoulders to cry on, we offer you the support you need, and we offer you the strength to carry on.
Mike & Sandie and The Valley Crew.

Prayers From California are on there way to you.

Richard, May God give you and your family strength and comfort during this difficult time.
