Friday evening we lost our beloved employee of 23 years. She and her husband perished in a house fire.

Allean first came to work for my family as our babysitter when our twins were barely 2 months old. She stayed on to become their nanny (her choice of title) and then our housekeeper (again, her choice of title). She also worked from time to time in our greenhouse and occasionally at the shop during especially busy times.

She was a loyal and hardworking employee, ready to do whatever was needed. Somewhere along the way, many years ago, she ceased to be simply an employee and became part of our family. Not that she ever lived with us, although I had thought that she might one day, but because of her love for us and for our love for her.

My daughters call her Momalean. When they were first learning to talk, they could not say Miss Allean, and she refused to have them call her by a more formal name, so she became Momalean to our family and to many in this community. It is a name like no other, filled with love, just as she was like no other and filled with love.

Please pray for us as we strive to cope with this loss of our precious friend, and say an extra prayer for me as I speak at their funeral Thursday.

we pray for Momalean's

soul, and that of her husband's to make the safe passage to heaven!!
May her memories, and yours, be part of your family's fabric forever....

What a beautiful tribute

As I read, it was a beautiful tribute you did for momalean.

May the spirit of comfort and peace be with you and also her family.
Loosing two precious people at once is very tragic.

Love and prayers are with you!

Connie I'm so very sorry such a tragedy occurred. I pray for healing for those left behind. Momalean and her husband are already in a better place.

Like Mikey said... they will always be a part of the fabric of your family.

What a sad story. One of my holiday drivers and also a good friend who is in her early thirties lost her husband in a house fire when she was pregnant with her third child. It's not easy to deal with, we will be praying for you Connie and for comfort and support for all involved.

Thank you, my Friends. You cannot possibly know how precious your words are to me right now. I'll read and reread them for comfort and support.

Gfloral mentioned Debbie. She's our driver who lost her brother Monday morning after a long battle with cancer. We will appreciate your adding her to your prayers also.

I cannot imagine ....

what you are going through. My sympathy and positive wishes for you and the staff and the family.
