I was wondering if anyone has used the oasis design sheets that have styrofoam as a base to design a pool float. Someone just told me that it will sink to the bottom of the pool. Just wondering if you have had any experience, or suggestions. Thanks!!

When doing pool floating items, I always use green sheet styrofoam, two layers stacked or the 4" thick if you can find it, with a container atop the foam. We use Tee Pee to cover the mechanics...then design up from there.

I then attach them to the sides of the pool with fishing line since it will not show, but will keep the pieces where I want them in the pool.

One thing, if you can, it's best to either design on site, or in a tub of water at the shop, cuz these things can be buggers to balance.

The Oasis sheets will NOT work.

We anchor using cinder blocks painted the same color as the pool bottom. The poolfloat is then tethered to the cinder blocks with heavy monofilament (fishing line) to keep it centered.

Photos of an installation here. If you look closely, you'll see Donald holding a cinder block in photo #1 and then spot it in the pool (near his feet) in shot #2.

Thanks so much for your help! It's for a 50th Birthday, so sinking to the bottom would have been a ugly situation! I think I'll bring my 17 year old son along for the installation! Have a great day! Thanks again!

Thanks for your help. I will try it out in the bathtub!
