HI All: I will try again to post an introduction, this is my second attempt. Ha! I have not been on a chat site before.

I have worked in shops for 20+ years. I love the idea of a meeting place for Florists. I hope I can contribute as well as take, if accepted.

I was ready to open my own shop, however, I had a problem with the owner of the building I would be leasing, he failed to keep his commitment before I even got in. I'm very dissappointed, now I am looking at other options. I hope I have discernment as far as not expecting too much.

I love flowers, children, nature and learning.

Hello Victoria:

Thank you for the "Welcome". I really was inspired to see your quote. I really needed to see that message.

I have scary feelings at times about opening a shop. Guess everyone does. I am not afraid of my ability or passion. Just wanting to have that gut feeling of being in the right place, one that I can say "yep" this is where I am soposed to be. I am sort of a perfectionist, in as much I have high expectations, I have found out the hard way, that not everyone else does.

I am not working full-time, just doing Holiday work. I have put alot of time and research/planning, etc. to open.

Please tell me about your shop. How did you get started? Was it difficult to get started? Do you incorporate flowers with gifts and bakery goods?

I have so much respect for owners.

Hi Faith... I'm not an owner (anymore... gave it up for lent several years and a marriage ago). I'm an employee. I have alot of respect for anyone in the workforce who makes a difference and takes a chance.

Before you open your shop, arm yourself with knowledge... all kinds of it, especially the "boring" stuff like business plans and the like. There is so much information here... and most folks are willing to share. So welcome again and learn all you can... and when you are ready you will take the leap with wings in place.
