Hello!

Hi!

I'm an event florist in London, Ontario, Canada. I am not a retail florist- I concentrate solely on weddings and other large events. I'm constantly on line, researching, looking for inspiration- today I was introduced to this forum by a FlowerChat member (Mocha Rose). This is just what I'm looking for! Inspiration and reliable advice! I hope to be able to provide both as well :)

Check out my site- www.designsinbloom.ca to see some of my work. I've yet to update my galleries to include 2008 weddings- too busy- I'm sure you all know how much time is left for other things, such as web updates during wedding season! I've filled out the "profile" below to answer any other questions you may have!

- What is your website address?
www.designsinbloom.ca

- How long have you been in business?
3 years as owner of Designs in Bloom a business I founded. (Prior to that- 4 years part-time experience with a local well-known retail florist).

- Do you have any formal floral education?
No. Lots of "hands-on" training. What I like to consider an apprenticeship. And still learning everyday!

- How were you referred to FlowerChat?
Mocha Rose.

- What do you hope to gain from membership?
Inspiration, advice and insight!

- What do you feel you can contribute to the community?
Hopefully the same as above!

- Do you operate from a commercial building or your residence?
I am home based. I have a large 3 car garage attached to my home. Inside my workspace I have a separate office area for client meetings as well as a large work area equipped with large (stainless steel) design table and 3 large 2 door coolers! There's always lots going on!

Welcome! Your website is lovely, and the work there is gorgeous.

My standard question for home based florists is if you pay traditional taxes as a business, and your business is registered legally?
:)
thanks,
tracy

Hi Tracy! Thanks for the compliments :) Yes, Designs In Bloom is a legally registered business and I charge/pay all the required taxes.

Thanks!
