has struck the island nation of Japan, and a powerful tsunami is heading for the west coast of the almost entire North American continent....
Have you been following??....

My son was supposed to fly through Japan last night from Africa. We prayed at dinner last night that they would be safe. His flight got re-routed the other way through Germany. After up in the air they learned of what was going on, he called at 6am after landing in Germany. Thank you God for still being in business of answering our prayers and for Angel's of safety. Psalm 91 could never be so true...........................pass the plate

Yep Mikey, been glued to the tube for a few hours now... the devastation is intense... more like "worst ever" for Japan, no power, no transportation. Will be a very long time recovering from this one.

There will be affects in the global financial markets today and for days to come.

I keep saying the planet is PO'd... wonder when we'll start to take it seriously...

is anybody aware that this very powerful earthquake has "shifted" the axis of the earth, and now that the Japanese coastline has been altered by 8 feet, as a result.
There is now a study group been set up, measuring the shoreline effects of ALL the land masses on this world of ours??

Gives new meaning to "this ever-changing world".

Yep Mikey... the Google Earth images today showing before and after the quake show the movement pretty well. And imagine the force generated, I mean the waves traveled thousands of miles all the way to the west coast of North America, and changed things here and in Canada too...

The planet is, and always will be in control of man... it's man's screwing around that is amplifying the effects of naturally occurring events. We really have no one to blame but ourselves.... and it will continue to escalate in both frequency and power.

BOSS<<<< thinking horses may become fashionable transportation again one day...

Do you really think so? I look at pictures of the globe in a flat format of the earth, and mentally "fit the puzzle" together of where this and that country USED to be. Look at it, everybody.

You can see, for example, how South America used to actually tuck in with Africa. Do you see how North America might actually have been side by side with South America? That happened long before man was screwing around.

I don't believe we should be polluting, but neither do I believe that we really have any sort of impact, I believe that is FAR beyond OUR capabilities.

you are correct...earth's land masses evolved from ONE massive landmass, and all of earth's inhabitants actually came from "the cradle of life" in central Africa.

Linda, I agree with you as far as the way the land masses used to fit together... no doubt here. What I said was that "mans" actions are "amplifying" the natural events that occur.

My dad thinks that all the rocket launches over the years have had an affect. Think about the thrust generated, pushing on the planet...??...? I don't know.

I don't believe in global warming, we have no records going back far enough to know whether or not this is "normal". But like you said, the polluting we do, the lack of care we give to his rock has to have a negative effect.

have you seen this link.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/events/japan-quake-2011/beforeafter.htm

that really shows how horrible it was!

wow, I'm impressed how by dragging the pointer from right to left, "overlays" the new satellite imagery......and the horrible immediacy of the damage done!!
I'm not sure why each "generation" MUST be reminded how they are NOT in control, but this seems to be one of the reasons dad always said "don't follow too close..you DON'T know when the brakes might fail"!!
I don't think we are capable of "understanding" the disaster in our "comfort zone"........
