I have a new years eve party at a large hotel coming up. The theme is 70's disco. I am at a total loss as to what type of flowers or designs to use.I usually do 1/2 tall(because of the high ceiling)and 1/2 short. Usually have 40+ tables.HELP HELP HELP...my brain is wigged out from all the pine I have been smelling the past few weeks:)

Got a crazy, cool idea for you. - Color scheme of Green and Black with accents of silver.

For the containers - You glue a black Syndicate Sales designer tray to a black plastic cylinder so the saucer is above the table. You take a large oasis sphere and cut it in half. Glue one half of the sphere to the dish and cover with green carnations. Then take silver glitter dried curly ting.....clip off the curly part so you have a bunch of straight sticks, then insert them into the half sphere of carnations. GIves you a Space-Age Jetsons type look. Ought to be cool with a 70's party.

Wow! Pretty creative. My tried and true method is to go to Google Images and type in what I am looking for, for ideas ...like "70's theme party"...
I've always ordered from prom decor companies like Stumps and Anderson's when I need some crazy things!

Rick's idea lends itself well to a Disco Ball look.

Need more info please, if you still need ideas. Are the tables round, seat how many? Budget? Table cloths or plastic, or other?

Round 10 top tables..our choice of black white or ivory tablecloths ....no real budget but not over 75ea...this is a trade out we do with the hotel

Like the idea that ricky had. The signs are all bright colors and the band they are having are dressed like saturday night fever.

The more ideas the better. :)

Ivory cloths with a base of vinyl record album for a start...

all of you have wonderful ideas.

im thinking silver and black! maybe some red here and there.
u can get a clear vase and find silver balls [close to disco ball look] and put them inside the vase.

Cool ideas so far!

2 ideas for the tables:
Use black table cloths on half, and white on the other half.

1.) Incorporating a fiber optic light like this one, for the tall centers. Use the small wand or corsage optic lights for the small centers.

2.) Here is another idea: you could do different colored glass balls submerged in water with lights and flowers on top.

Spencer gifts might be a good place to look around for ideas too.

Don't forget the disco ball for the dance floor with streamers emanating from the center.

have fun and post pictures!

Another great idea......there is a cool product out there called COOL NEON WIRE. Kristine Kratt AIFD used it during her symposium program and talk about a cool invention.

Scope it out at www.coolneon.com

I have used it for a few events and I love it.

ive seen these at micheals too

If you look at images from the '70s, they are full of drawings of flowers that all look a lot like gerbs. People used to put them all over everything--clothing, books, Volkswagens--just couldn't get enough.

Love and Peace MAN !!!!

Seriously though, glue dishes onto vinyl records, then using Gerberas, of ALL multi colours do a tall upright arrangement , but using twisted hazel for the height. Hang Mirror balls(which you should get cheap now ) from the branches of Hazel ??? I would say use CDS but they werent around in the 70s????
