So our dishwasher died (great flowers at the funeral) I believe it was hand made by Fred Flintstone.

I need help buying a new one...Just like it.

No, I can not find a single identifying mark on the carcass.

It looks to me to be larger than a home machine, it is cavernous inside. We used it to wash clear vases customers returned, this sucker even held a bombay! Real plain as far as gadgets there was WASH and OFF.

Any help? Ideas about new ones people find to work well? Anything????

Thank you for any help you can provide!

I loved my Jirasic era Kitchen Aid. ;)

It too has gone by way of dead, but it lived and worked for a long 20 years. I've always like Kitchen Aid.

I like our Frigidaire Dishwasher.

DO NOT BUY MAYTAG!

Last time we needed a Dishwasher, I went CHEAP!

Had the Kitchen Aide 20 years ago, and it was a good machine. Had to replace the motor though after only 6 years. In 2001, we went with Maytag. THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE and I will never buy a Maytag anything again. They were bought out by Whirlpool.

The Maytag Dishwasher Motor died in five years, they replaced it under warranty after a BIG FIGHT and 3 hours on the telephone. 90 days later, it sounded like a 747 Jet taking off, and Maytag refused to do anything else about it. The reason that the Maytag Repairman never had anything to do, was because NO CUSTOMERS could ever get through to their customer service department!

Also had trouble with their Maytag side by side Refrig ice maker and the Mother Board. And their washing machine has given us numerous problems as well.

So, the last time we needed a Dishwasher, I went cheap. (under $300) and got it at our local small Appliance dealer.

Checked the reviews and they were all good.

My model is FDB1050REB1 made by Electrolux. Took the old one out and installed the new one myself. The dealer took the old one away at no charge.

The Frigidaire is QUIET and does a great job cleaning the dishes. Only drawback is that, the door is hard to close and women can break a nail if they are not careful.

Also found out that, in all of these machines, you have to turn on your tap water first to make sure that the water is really hot when it's going into the dishwasher since, the heating element inside is on a timer.

If the water is cold going in, it will not heat up to the temperature you need for killing bacteria.

I told Linda that, we could go out and spend $600 to $850 for a top of the line Dishwasher, only to have to replace it in another five years. This way, I could afford to throw this one away and buy another one for under $300 and still be ahead of the game.

Facts are that, all of these appliance manufacturers make CHEAP NOW and they design all of them to last for five years. Any longer than that, is called LUCK!

Just check the dimensions of the cabinet the new one is going into to make sure the size is standard.

I have a GE Triton...I don't like GE necessarily but when I bought this house it came with it. I thought I'd have to replace it since I knew it was already quite a few years old. Well it's been 6 years since buying the house and I have to say I LOVE that dishwasher. Of all the dishwashers I've experienced, which is quite a few, this one is the best hands down. I love how many options it has. Not sure if it's still available on the market, like I said mine is at least 10? years old. Lots of room, baskets are deep, has various options and is quick/cleans very well.

Love my new amana with deep basket....love it love it..Hated my last one which was a maytag, it was smelly not really a big fan of that, it didn't clean well...dishes had to be rewashed after cycle...hated it so much I stopped using it...the smell thing just was making me uneasy even tried glisten and other dishwaser cleaning products nothing helped...

The amana so far gets the job done and I no longer get hit in the face with a strange odor or have to rewash the dishes...yeah me..

Could it be a commercial machine? If you wanted to repair it you could call a repairman who specializes in restaruant equipment repairs. You can also ask them which machines they repair the LEAST often, and ask them about interior room of different models.
