I have 2 old, sturdy display tables. They are round and in the middle measure 42inches across. They require a 30 inch drop to the floor so we can stash things underneath. They need to hold gifty items and plants. I have tablecloths that were bought on sale a long time ago, but now need new ones. I can't seem to locate the round ones I need and do not have the talent or time to cut sheets etc or sew. The on line sites seem to require volume purchases and the shops I tried don't have the round. (also I am uncertain as to the correct size to purchase)
I would really appreciate any suggestions and am also curious as to what you all do for your table displays.

I have gotten them at the Family Dollar, Wal-mart, Kohls, and Target. I look for 72" round or
70" round - can't remember which. They are hard to find but when I do find them, I scoop them up, especially at "liquidation stores".

I've gotten them from Linens and Things, Bed Bath and Beyond

Hi Tulip--
If your tables are 42" across and 30" to the floor, you need a 102" linen.
(42+30+30). You may not be able to find that exact size, but 96" is pretty standard.
If you can't find what you want comercially, you could purchase the fabric and have a seamstress or tailor make them for you.

you could paint them instead maybe, a nice funky colour, cerise or lime green? :paintplus

I know thats not what you asked but just thought id throw it in the pot:)

What about working in "layers"? If you can't find one cloth of the approptiate size, get several of the smaller sizes, and use 2 or 3 for each table ... you could use mixed seasonal colors/prints, and have a vignette of sorts just for the cloths, then drop your plants/gifts. I like a pieced together display like this, and used to use several types of complementary cloths when we had the need. It looks a little warmer than a standard single color, but the usefulness of this look would depend a lot on your store.

I would contact your local linen rental company. See if they would work out an "in store " display in exchange for use of 2 floor length table skirts and seasonal table toppers?!?!? Throw a few of their cards on the display and you've got freebies working for both of you!

I certainly appreciate all the help.I'm going to rotate the cloths more often(after I shop the stores suggested-thanks for figuring the size out for me!) Love the layering idea(Tracy),especially using 3 as the most I've ever done is 2.I'm inspired since having the store freshly painted in springtime green.

Linens & Things, Bed Bath & Byond both have really pretty sheer cloths ... perfect as an accent.

We're green here, too! It's a great color to add any accent color to. Love it.

good luck!

Great idea, Una Luna! Wish I had thought of that. I sew, so my brain went right to making new cloths.
