Let me preface this by saying...it's been a really REALLY stoopid week! The cooler had a hissy fit and blew out half its guts...then, just for a fun twist...the AC died on monday...ya twas a toasty store we had!
The wee wedding I had today (sat) was only for the brides bouquet...a few bits and bobs for b-vases etc...thank heaven!
The bride decided she was going to diy the gals flowers as her drama was price-point oriented...hmmmmmm OK
I tried to be tactful and point out..ya get what ya pay for yes?
If you buy ground round instead of filet...there's gonna be a HUGE difference!
To no avail.....
The wee girlie arrives at the store this am almost in tears...she had made the "other " boquets on fri and when she opened the fridge this am....dead.....deaddeaddead.
I ended up coming to the rescue so to speak and the day went off with one less hitch.
I gotta tell ya, part of me wanted to laugh...another to cry with her and yet another to lecture her ...............
I did none of the above of course but wondered how you all handle this sort of situation???
I did not " over-charge" her...but DID make sure we made good coin on this silliness on her part.
PHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm really open to ideas here...
thanks for "listening" :soapbox:

I think you did *exactly* what you were supposed to do and handled it impeccably. WTG, Jeannie...not only did you save everyone's butts, but all those future brides now see you as a "go-to" kind of businessperson.

What more could you OR they ask for?

One of my best customers came from a very similar circumstance. That customer told a lot of people about how we came to their rescue, so we obtained a few other customers also.

Jeannie... you did exactly the right thing. :)

You, my girl....

are definitely a candidate for a "go to" florist.
One of our very own FC posters here, went through this exact issue a few years back...not that he/she was trying to "budget",,,just trying to be prudent and careful.
Good job......loved your explanation of how YOUR day went...kinda almost felt your pain straight away!!

Thanks all....have calmed down now....onward and forward to this weekends wedding!!! yeeeehaw!
(it's a fun one....second marriage and we have a pretty free hand with all the designs)
HOLY HANNA! thank goodness for brides that have "been around the block" a time or two!!
geez, that came out a bit crass.................
Ah well,
LET IT BLOOM!
