Attached are a few pictures of a DIY Bride that put together her own Wedding flowers with some friends at our store yesterday. The wedding was today.

We enable people purchasing flowers in bulk from us to utilize work area if they wish to assemble flowers for their wedding.

The Bride (Pictured holding her completed bouquet) and four friends assembled 4 vase arrangements, a Bridal Bouquet, (1) Maid of Honor and several corsages.

We also have a designer available to assist them with general questions.

This isn't something that will take over our wedding Department but there are always some Brides working on a budget, and we believe that such a program keeps them doing business with our company.

The Bride couldn't be happier with the flowers, (of course) and the experience will no doubt last a lifetime.

Creating positive experiences for customers is what keeps me excited about this business!

You may be onto something pretty cool there! The experience is probably more of a draw than any money savings. Love the idea!

I believe we have stores so that people have access to the products and services we offer. Obviously, people are looking to buy flowers from flower shops. Not everyone is looking for completed designs, the craft industry is big because some people like doing things themselves.

Becoming the source for flowers is the key. The fastest way to accomplish this is to be in a position to accommodate even the most irregular requests.

We all know there are many options for people looking to do things themselves when it comes to flowers. They can go to a mass marketer, a local wholesaler and even purchase flowers in bulk online and have them shipped in a box to their door.

One thing those companies can't offer is the right environment and the expertise necessary to make sure the final product looks like the vision in their head.

That's where we come in.

One interesting thing about flexibility is that the more willing you are to accommodate things most people don't do, the faster word travels about what it is that your doing, that they can't get anywhere else.

Add on services like this help to build business and enhance a reputation as the place to go for flowers. I believe people want to purchase quality flowers, and in my mind the best chance for quality should be located inside the coolers of the experts even if they cost a few pennies more.

Our job is to prove to them that we're valuable. In more ways than they ever imagined.

Robert.... Thank you!

I too have had a bride inquiring about flowers and doing the centerpiece themselves. I have offered my shop for them to create them, with the purchase of flowers. Not sure how much to charge for this.. but I will work out those details.

It seems we have to meet people where they are and sell them flowers anyway they want them.. bunches are made up.

We have been selling bulk flowers for quite some time now, we get folks in for charity events too. We don't have the space in our design area to accommodate even 3 or 4 more people, I would be afraid of the liability factor as well. We have a reputation for doing different, I don't think it would fly with the Boss for us to give away our design expertise.
