My daughter saw this movie last night and said it was "The best movie she has ever seen".

Two old guys (cancer patients) who decide to go do their "Bucket List" before they kick the bucket.

Guess you had better take a box of tissues with you.

As a matter of fact, yes I do....nothing flamboyant though...

1) Grow closer to God
2) Grow closer to Cherie
3) Grow closer to God
4) Become a Pastor

The rest will take care of itself...

Thanks for the post I've been wondering if this movie would be good. Can't wait to see it now!!

I keep trying to work on a life list... the first item was/is the balloon ride... hopefully this year Alana and I will be able to use that great gift she gave me three Christmas' ago.

the night race at Bristol............
traveling in my rv to every race.................
taking the grandkids with us to every race............
my daughters both finishing college before they turn 35.................
winning the lottery to be able to do the first two things......................

Oh my the possibilties are endless and wonderful...

the:scooter: was just the begining, getting the kids out of the house (I've already resorted to prayer on that one),exploring my spirituality further, traveling past the arctic circle in winter, got to get to Italy and Amsterdam, find love again, 5k run, read a mountian of books, lose that last 10 pounds (again)LOL, a long cruise...

I honestly can't think of anything I want to do that I haven't already done and usually several times.

Meeting bloomz is on my bucket list :hippy2:
(Looks like that will happen later this year)

I met his lovely sister Twila several years ago :)

Just saw this movie tonight and really enjoyed it! What a great springboard for discussion. We ended up discussing OUR bucket lists for longer than the movie lasted.

I've had a 'bucket' list for quite a while, it was one of the things a friend who battled cancer asked her friends to do. She asked that we make a list of 25 things we wanted to do before our next milestone birthday. Her one request was that when we crossed something off the list that we add a new item to take its place.

I've managed to cross six things off my list so far and hope to remove a few more this summer.

I want to keep missing the bucket when it is time to kick it. :loopy

:) Apparently my message was too short, so I had to add words to the smile.

The past number of years have had me thinking about a Bucket List a lot.
Since 12/3, when we began to take care of our 87 year old Uncle Rudy, the list has been again in the forefront of my mind.

My husband, Tom, and I have no children. So, a big part of our bucket list is beginning to take care of the planning part of what happpens when......

I would urge everyone to:
1. become an organ donar......you CAN heal and save lives!

2. create a Power of Attorney and a Living Will, so that everyone knows what you want done, and who will handle it for you, should you be incapicated. Pick someone who is caring, compassionate, and willing to do the work and make the decisions. And, it is work, and it is hard!!

3. If you are a Veteran, get registered with the VA. You never know when or under what circumstances you may need help from your country. There are benefits there .....but no-one tells you about it.

4. Make pre-arrangements. Whether it is for burial, cremation, viewing or no viewing or a grand wake party, Spell out your wishes, buy the burial insurance policy and pay for it yourself, up front!!!! This is the one last thing that you CAN DECIDE, and no-one can fight about it or guess at what you want done. Be sure to include your floral wishes in your pre-arrangements!!

5. Have a will written. If you have one already, review it and update it periodically.

6. Review and adjust periodically your insurance beneficiaries.

7. Make sure that your Power of Attorney and Executor have copies of important papers like your pre-arrangments, POA, Living will and other ownership documents.

8. If you don't have children, like us, consider what you want done with your remaining estate after you and your spouse die......can it do some good in education, scholarships, health care, feeding the poor, etc. A Foundation can be set up that kicks in only when both parties are dead.

9. Keep in a safe place, with knowledge going to your POA, all bank records, income tax forms, deeds to cars, houses, etc. This stuff needs to be accessible -- should not be in a Safety Deposit box!!

10. After you have done all of the above, then go out and do all the fun things that you have always dreamed of doing, but never took the time to do.......ride in a hot air balloon; sail the 7 seas, travel thru Europe, ride the rails across Canada; visit every state in the USA; learn to play golf (why??)...and so on.

If this sounds morbid, I don't mean to be. Just some food for thought!
Blessings & regards to all,

Cheryl

Lmao.....

Cheryl.....et al.
My wife, Nancy and I have completed our Power of Attourney's / Living Wills / Last Wills and Testaments. And I must say....having done that is a great relief. Once you've finished those....you realise how little you have to worry about.

As to the "bucket list" at the ripe old age of 53.....I have this to add, I still hope to:

Have as much fun as I possibly can every chance that I get for as long as I live (without hurting anyone else) from now until my ultimate demise. I have more fun planned for this year.....just wait....I'll show ya...

That's about it...All the best**

** of course I read that if you want to make God laugh...you should tell him your plans....
