i was reading in another post about someone who had mentioned seeing a ghost and thought maybe if i shared my ghost (premonition) story, others could share their ghost stories.

i actually have more than one (and it's more like a premonition), but this one is still vivid after 26 years.

i was about 18 years old and sound asleep, but it was the early morning hours (about 6 or 7 a.m.) i recall in my dreaming state seeing my mother turning the corner of my bedroom, but she was sickly skinny and bald. i woke in a panic, jumped out of bed to search for her. she was sound asleep in the next room. i was sweating and wide awake then. about one year later, my dream came true. my mother was diagnosed with cancer and looked exactly like what i saw in my dream. i've never forgotten it and from then on i paid close attention to any dreams i've ever had. kindof freaked me out for a long long time.

ok, your turn.

This may sound a little weird to some, especially non-believers, but I know my parents, Alice and Fred, are closeby. Last summer ( then, 2006) , out of the blue and in the early morning hours I heard the distinct sound of mom and dad's doorbell - the swiss clock tune. Their doorbell has been broken and disconnected since the year 2001 and the new doorbell I had installed has not worked for the past 2 1/2 to 3 years (battery operated) and did not have the same chime. I thought this was odd but went to the door anyway and of course no one was there. I didn't tell anyone about my "audio-hallucination". A few days later, my 11-yr-old daughter heard the chime in the early morning and said, "Mom, someone's at the door." I replied, "The doorbell doesn't work, there's no one there." She checked anyway and of course, again, no one was at the door. Then I explained to her that I had also heard the distinct chime and realized that somehow mom and dad were making their presence known to us. Later on that month, I met my future husband, Bobby Cole, and told him about hearing the door chime and even after checking it to verify that the doorbell in fact did not work, he still had reservations about my daughter and I hearing the doorbell. Then, on the morning we were married, August 31, 2006, Bobby and I awoke together and he asked me how I slept. I told him that I slept well, except that I was awakened by the "clock" doorbell chime at about four o'clock in the morning. Just as he thought, "How sweet. She's hearing things...." The doorbell chimed again and Bobby heard it too. Now he's a believer that mom and dad are here with us and it gives me great comfort to know that they "showed" themselves at such a serious turning point in my life. I feel that they sanctioned and approved of my decision to marry Bobby, and life has been very, very peaceful ever since.

I have at least one in my bed room; well, I actually don't know how many. I've never seen them but I know they are here... every night.

Every morning when I get up, I always find my pillow down the floor, and the bed sheet half peeled away. Sometimes I even find myself rotated 180-degree on the bed, with my head on the leg side and my legs on the head side.

I didn't do this for myself. They did. They are messing with my bed and sometimes flipping me around while I am asleep. Scary.:help:

that is hilarious!lollollol

in a nutshell (1973) played a Ouija board at friends rented home. Needless to say, I was being told to leave the house (repeatedly)....by the board. I was not comfortable from the time I entered. The next day, friend came home to find all of her collected antique English Bone China cups & saucers sitting on the floor, cups on the saucers from the top facade shelf above her cupboards. She called me back to the house, we did the ouija board...got a name Amy. Found out a couple of years after friend moved from the house, Amy had died at age 4 by getting hit by a car in the driveway. The car was the same make as mine was - a mustang.
story #1

I have too many....majority are premonitions that have come true, a few are spirits.

I had one experience with a ouija board. I will never touch a ouija board again ever nor will I let one in my house.

The doorbell story reminded me. Many times in this house, I've awakened with a start in the middle of the night, SURE I've heard the doorbell. I ran downstairs a few times, and there's never anyone there. Now I don't even check.. if it's dark and I think I heard the doorbell, I just assume it was "one of those dreams".

My mother swore after my little brother (age 15) died, that she had to continue to clean his fingerprints off the top door jambs. He used to stand there, and hold onto the top of the door frame, leaving prints and smears. For months after he was gone, she swore that new fingerprints would appear all the time, even though she kept washing them off.

My sister tells of seeing our mom after she died. She saw her up in the corner of the ceiling of her bedroom. She was sitting on a chair and just a few inches tall. It freaked my sister out when it happened.. and I think it happened a handful of times.

I have thought I saw something/someone walking by in the past, but never saw anything really distinct. Many times I brushed it off as "I guess I was just seeing my eyelashes as I blinked". Not sure.

YEa...

Great-granfather Max still is up in the attic. Stuff moves around by itself. Noises up there all the time.

No biggie. Just used to it... Personally, I think he's mad that we tore down the greenhouses way back when and put in a parking lot there...

My Dad said that "Max's Millions" is hidden in the walls of the building somewhere... We know he had money, as he was one of the first florists in the city to offer "Flower Delivery", and had at least 2 trucks at one time. Have a photo to prove it... Posted it somewhere here on FC before...

Would LOVE to find even one of those millions now!!!
(for all I know, they are insulating the shop within the wall as we speak.) Err...anyone have a jack hammer I could borrow?

no, but I know they are there...

The house we are in is over 100 years old. It's been everything under the sun, including a doctors office and from what I was told, a mortuary.....

Very very bizarre, and unexplainable things happen all the time.

Luckily it hasn't been anything we couldn't fix...yet....

BTW, I was concieved in friday the 13th, and I got married on friday the 13th!!

However I will say this has been quite a bad friday the 13th for me, lots of little and one kind of big bad things happeneing today!

Great, I am glad there are those of us that are believers here.

In the summer of 1996 I moved to Washington DC. The first few months upon arriving, I would take field trips by myself to historical sites.

Now I have always been a Revolutionary and Civil War buff because I am a G11th Grandson to General Israel Putnam, and Capt. Peter Holbrook of MA. So I have always had a fascination with battlefields. For some reason I feel connected to these areas.

My first experience was at Manassas Battlefield in Virginia. On a late Saturday afternoon we had a wild thunder storm blow through the region. After it cleared I took a drive to the Battlefield to look around. Upon entering the battlefield area I came to the first marker and decided to stop. The first thing I noticed was a old rock bridge over the stream, and from there I found a wide trail and decided to follow that. After I read the first marker, I realized I was walking on part of the Appalachian Trail. It was early evening and the sun was setting, and the results of the earlier days thunderstorm had fell some branches across the trials, so everything was disorganized, and wearing flip flop sandals and plaid shorts,(I am so California), I was not comfortable having to walk over fallen trees.
It was getting late by now and I started to see smaller trails to my left that I figured went up the hill and over to the battlefield. So I decided to see if I could take a quick hike up and over before it got to dark. About 5 minutes onto the trail, I came to a severally damaged area and was having a difficult time trying to walk through the brush and all this vine (Sumac) and had realized I has kind of stuck. Not helping matters any the sun had just set and it was now dusk and that I was at least a half hour away from my car, the hair on the back of my neck rose. At that point, I became very aware. This is what happened and you can believe it or not but it happened to me, God so help me if I am lying.
I started to hear several men talking in sort of a whisper. I scouted my surroundings to no avail. So I freaked. As I started to tear my way through the brush I slipped and lost my balance and heading down hill in a off balanced run I went head to head with a tree that stopped me dead in my tracks. I backed up and heard a man say something like "over there". I turned to my right and saw three confederate soldiers squatting about ten feet from me. They were facing the bridge area and not looking at me. I was stunned and I turned to the right and looked back to them and they were gone. About 2 or three seconds I saw them. I ran like a yankee boy with his pants on fire through the thick brush and back to the trail to the bridge in about ten minutes.
Out of breath and spirit I stopped once I saw my car and sat on a bench be the bridge to collect my head and to nurse my wounded legs and arms. As I got up to leave I saw a marker and decided to read it.
The bridge was a replica of the original bridge that was destroyed at the beginning of the war, the battle of Bull Run took place there, 400 killed, 2000 wounded/missing. And several days later, head to toe poison Sumac rash.

My second encounter, now that I am a ghost seer, was at Gettysburg Battlefield. Again by myself in the early evening. I stopped off the road and walked the trail to a place called "Little Round Top". On top of this small hill there are massive rock boulders that Union soldiers used against advancing Confederate forces down across a wide meadow.
As I sat there by myself observing the scene before me, I noticed what I thought to be a dog in the meadow some distance from where I was setting. It appeared to be running through the meadow coming my direction. I would notice it as it would stick it's head above the tall grass every few minutes. I didn't really pay attention to it as I was just more interested in my thoughts. Several minutes went by and this thing had popped up again and I caught site of it in my peripheral vision. As I turned to center in on the dog, I notice it was wearing a grey cap, it was close enough so I could tell it was a man carrying a rifle. I stood up and cupped my hand over my brow to shield the sun from my eyes to get a better look, and it never showed again. I think I saw a confederate ghost. I mentioned this to a Park Ranger at the visitor center and he told me that I was not the first to see this. Come to find out there are many distinct ghosts through out the park.

When I was a teenager, I hiked up Paris Mountain in upstate SC with one of my friends. Near the top, we came to a fairly flat, mostly grassy area where an inn had stood about a75-100 years before.

There was an old twisted and gnarled tree which had obviously fallen many years before. It was sitting out in the middle of the clearing and about 10-20 feet off the trail.

I climbed up into the branches of the tree, and my friend photographed me sitting there with my backpack. When the film was developed, there was another face, definitely not a part of the tree, in the tree with me, near--almost beside--me.

I still have that picture somewhere, and if I remember, have time, and can find it, I'll try to post it here.

Thom, I visited the Antietem (spelling) battlefield once. I did not actually see any ghosts but did have a very strong feeling that they were there. I am not one usually prone to these kinds of feelings. Surreal, but real.

I have had more encounters with the supernatural than I can count. For some strange reason, ever since I was a child, I could see and sense spirits - both demons and angels. I have also had premonitions, visions and even several dreams that later came true.

One dream I had was of a white commercial airplane with blue trim flying towards a large, mapped area with the words 'Greece' written on it. I heard the sound of someone shouting "Danger, Danger Danger" over and over...then I woke up. I checked the news online for several days after. On the 3rd day, while looking at the news online, I saw as front page news, a picture of a white plane that had crashed. Yep, and it had BLUE trim! And it was a Greek airliner that had crashed near Athens. I also knew that the "subway" in London was going to be bombed a second time and that it would be all over the news when I woke up in the morning. I remember praying for the safety of the people before falling asleep. The next morning, I went down stairs and my husband was already up and watching the news. He told me the London "subway" had been bombed again. I replied "I already know." Poor guy, he's used to my weirdness. When I'm sensing "stuff," especially at night, I just tell him I'm sensing a "disturbance" in the force. LOL!

I've had to be a Ghost hunter several times and rid homes of demonic forces. Still NOT my favorite thing to do!

I've come to find out that ghosts or demons like to inhabit places that...are indian burial grounds, war sites (civil war especially, I live on a Revolutionary war battle site and it's pretty heavy with spirits), places where any occult or witchcraft has taken place, places where death...especially sudden or violent death has occurred...and more...just to many to list.

Angels are fun and have a great sense of humor. I don't sense them as often, but when I do...it is wonderful! When they are around I tend to laugh alot, see white "flashes" and see golden sparkles.

I have had more encounters than I can list here. But, one freaky encounter happened several years ago when I lived in VA. I was in the upstairs bathroom trying to help my son "Potty" (he was still learning how to use the big potty) because we were getting ready to leave the house in a few minutes. I glanced across the hall into our computer room and noticed my teen daughter sitting there, staring blankly at the computer screen, which was off. She was still in her pajamas. I was sort of ticked off because she was supposed to be dressed and ready to go. Before I could get on to her...my son needed me to pull up his pants. I quickly pulled them up and immediately crossed the hall to deal with my daughter. Lo and behold, she was gone! I quickly searched the upstairs rooms then made my way downstairs and called to her. My daughter stepped out of the family room...completely dressed and ready, with a puzzled look on her face. I questioned her about being in the computer room...she said that she wasn't in there and that she has BEEN ready for a while. FREAKY!!!

Had a really bad dream last year. I dreamt that I was with my oldest sister and we had just walked down the stairs together, then behind us walk my middle sister. She look really pale and when she came up to me I gave her a hug and realised she was dead. I woke up at this point crying my eyes out. When I got to work that day I was so upset I ended up crying about it to my Mum and Nic. My middle sister was holiday at the time and where she goes is no phone reception so I couldn't call. Then when my mum got home my dad had said that my sisters husband had phone. Lise my sister had been up all night crying as she had come out in really bad ezcema and was in alot of pain with it. So he had taken her to the hospital that morning to get her some medication. It was so weirdo but she always rings me when she is down or needs some support. I told her the next time she needed me could she just ring and not contact me in a dream as I was so distrort. She thought it was wonderful because it showed her just how much I love her.
