Does anybody know of a good place to stay on Cape Cod for the Columbus Day weekend Oct 6-9. Arrival: Friday Depart: Monday. Looking for a Condo, house rental, hotel, close to beach, (prefer on it) if no suggestions for that I will gladly take suggestions for a good weekend place to stay within 5-6 hour driving time of Syracuse to entertain a 19, 17, and 13 year old. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide

Depends On Your Definition Of "entertainment"!

We spent a weekend in Carver Mass (at the base of Cape Cod last month! It rained all the time we were there so we stayed in and enjoyed the family, but the day we left the rain stopped. Great grand daughter (4 years old) visited the Mayflower and Plymouth Rock, took a boat ride, and swam in the Atlantic. Sunday Brunch in a quaint, disorganized, family operated restaurant that serves only breakfast was $88.00 (including tip) for 11 people, and we brought enough "Doggy bags" home to Pa. that Akiko and I ate for 3 more days! The New England boiled dinner was cooked at home from the farmers Market, but the lobsters we picked up were simply super!

Or drive 3.5 hours south from Syracuse to Wellsboro. Hike the Turkey Path down into the "Grand Canyon of the East" Or if the water stays as high as it is right now due to the rain you can take a canoe/raft trim down Pine Creek at the bottom of the canyon. We do have a movie theater, art museum, and 53 miles to the North a reasonable shopping mall, all the standard eating establishments from Applebees, Chillies, Chinese, Sushi, or whatever or 58 miles South to another shopping mall, and my favorite, Charlie Brown's Steak House or a better grade of Sushi at Ichi Ban!

There is so much to do that you can never do it all, just depends on how diverse the likes of your group are!:musical:

I love Mystic and surrounding area. Also the Sea Coast in NH is glorious. I love all of it.
