Does TF negotiate member fees?

They must do something of that sort. They called and offered me free membership and other free fees. If they can offer "free," surely they can provide "modified/reduced." Or so it would seem...

you have to to ask!

Joe, you need to try to get some free months! You have to at least ask, the worst they can do is sy no....its just like anything right now,,,,example, comcast and verizon are at war right now, the customer has the upper hand! I told comcast that I was going to switch to verizon cuz prices were lower, guess what, with no questions asked, comcast lowered my bill to match verizon, just because I asked! These companies are banking on customers who dont ask or do anything about it!!!They love people like that! Same as credit card companies, ask for a lower rate or threaten to switch cc cards, that works too, you need to get up and ask ask ask!

Call TF and tell them FTD has made you an offer you cannot refuse and unless tf is willing to help you out(maybe a few months free membership and dove fees,),you are going to make the switch, stand your ground strong, and I bet your rep will give you some credits.....GL JOE!

After recently sending in our letter of termination, we were offered 2 whole months of membership fees to stay!! woohoo! I think not.

Good Luck!

My question wasn't word properly.

I have already spoken with my rep and he had to go to his supervisors. I told them I wanted to discontinue one membership and that I am no longer FTD.

There was a "small town" discount which Teleflora put into place a few years ago. When I got out in '05 my monthly fee was $119 but FTD's was $79.99 with the small town discount. FTD just went to $99 and Teleflora just gave me free till August and in the May book.
When I sent my letter to FTD in '05, they offered to help me in any way to stay FTD. I did because I was the only FTD shop here. Now with all the charges here and there, I'm pretty much back to zero on keeping them any longer.

Rhonda, How small a town do you have to be in to get that discount?

small town fee

I just got my membership fee reduced to the "small town" fee.
My town has a population of about 6,000. My new fee is $79.00.
It was $139.00 . I got this after a long rant with my TF rep. Remember she was the one that told me "there aren't any OG that are TF members"
(HA HA HA HA ..Stop you're killing me!..HA HA )

below 6000 used to be the cut off. Guess it still is. But !!! If you are the only Teleflora shop even in a larger service area, negotiate.

Deal Day 3/30/2007

To answer my own question (Oringinal Post), Yes they do. I got a long term deal with them.

Joe

Congrats Joe
Scheduled to talk with all three big ones today.
Hope we also achieve positive results.
If not we've decided to make some pretty radical changes.
Wish us luck !

Greenhouses empty yet ?

Our FTD rep came in today. We were extremely busy, trying to finish by 2:30, so my boss could cut out of town for a few days, so they didn't talk long. My boss was complaining out the high fees. The FTD woman said that FTD raised their rates "to keep up with Teleflora". I couldn't believe it. What kind of "reason" is that??!! It just struck me as nuts. I mean, at least make some stuff up that sounds fair! LOL

Joe,
Get it in writing, lock it away, there are no long term deals with the wire services, no matter who signed the deal. Check your statement carefully each month(which I am sure you do), because eventually you will see an increase or the "to better serve you notice".

Hi Susan:

If this agreement changes, I will just terminate the main store's membership and TF knows it.

I have already been thinking about "other fees and services" prices increasing on the my statement. That won't fly. If it happens, I drop one.
