Our first one, will kow more this afternoon what to expect but we already have a insight of what to expect.

This priest came into the priesthood about 22 years ago at the age of 70. He was a decon for many years before that.
He wife is deceased for many years now and his girls took care of him lately but died in his sleep. He was 92.

He lived in his own house for year and years. Two of his daughter were with him lately because his health started failing him last year but he still visited patients at the hospital and went to church.

He is the type of priest that you felt at peace with.

His funeral will take place on Tues with the service by the bishop on Wed.

Some think I may not be busy some say differently.
I will keep you guys posted.

Luc

P.S. Did you know that there is a special coffin just for priest. THe lids comes off and the full body is expose to the public. Will be inetersting to see.

That could be the nicest thing ever said about a clergy member.

I would guess that a priest would have "in lieu of" all over the place ... for donations to go to the church, or a church affiliated charitable effort. Still, I think it's an honor to design arrangements for someone who is prominent in the community. Good luck with it, and I hope I'm wrong about the In Lieu Of.

What an honor it must be to be selected for such a sweetly solemn event.
Your comments regarding your relationship with him moved me. I have a similar such priest that shops here as well - I'm all teary thinking about the empty spot in our lives he will leave when he is no longer with us.
