Received a call from A REAL Florist about a order they have been working with us for one of their customer. Since they are only FTD and there is NO FTD coverage in this town, they had to send it through domestic Retrans.

THey had to call us because they for got to sent card information with the order. At that time, we had a chat and I asked her about the price she send so we can compare.

Low and behold, FTD Domestic Retrans calls to place order with us but at a LOWER PRICE of what they received for the order.

Looks like maybe FTD is Skimming money off Orders from Domestic Retrans just like they take money off Interfloral Orders.

Just keep a eye on this...Maybe if you are receiving a order from a Real Florist, it would be wise to give them a call and confirm the price they sent.

I will get to the bottom of this

Thanks for directing me to this site Luc. As soon as we had our conversation I called Frank Stronelli (ftd vice president of Canadian sales) . He says he will get back to me. Hopefully I will have answer for all on this matter.
This is a big concern for our shop as we are only ftd and rely on domestic retrans to get us the coverage we need. (hopefully this is a case of human error and not something eles ) Denise

it`s NOT human error Denise...

they do this just about EVERY TIME....I don`t think calling Frank S. is going to change anything!!

A few serious questions...

1. Where do their rules to florists state that they subtract $ from these orders prior to placing them for fulfillment? Can someone post the text here?

2. If FTD is taking out additional fees on florist-to-florist orders, are they not also doing it on the direct-from-consumer orders as well?

3. If so, is there a issue of skimming with consumers being charged fees above what they were sold and receiving less product than they paid?

4. If not, is there an issue of unfair and unequal treatment of florists and their customers which gives FTD.com an advantage?

I remember when the Interflora issue - about FTD supposedly deducting 6 Fleurins from each order- was brought last year and and have searched high and low to find the thread.

IMO, both florists and consumers have the right to know if they are systematically receiving less goods and services than sold.
