Funny thing: For all of the online proclamations of “Content is King,” you would think that most business owners with enough savvy to have a website would have caught on by now. But that's sadly not the case. Many businesses still don't have a blog, and if they do, it's usually a non-updated, abandoned piece of web space that's drier than the Sahara. And even if the blog is updated on a regular basis, the posts are usually fluffed-up, canned articles that accomplish close to nothing. Great post Ryan!

Quick question. Let's say you have x number of minutes each week for your total online marketing efforts – how should they be allocated between blog posting and Facebook (assuming for now those are the only two efforts)?
 
This is the trap though! I once followed a live online Q&A with a fitness guy who was talking about a specific diet. People kept sending in questions like "what about apples/cashews/etc.?" Finally the guy just said "stop asking - if there is any chance you enjoy something you should assume it's not on the list."

Blogging is hard. Really hard. But I have seen it do amazing things for florist websites. I think it has to come before Facebook. Anything easy or fun probably isn't good for you!
