I have a bride that wants bouts and corsages and a flowergirl headwreath using flowers that will dry in white flowers and 1 colored flower such as pink. So.....I'm thinking Gumphrena for the pink but I am stumped on anything else. White Hydrangea perhaps? Any brilliant ideas out there? Personally, I don't like the look of dried flowers so I could'nt spin off any ideas off the top of my head other than spray roses and hydranges. Speaking of dried arrangements, here is a goofy joke:

Two little old ladies were sitting on a park bench outside the local
town hall where a flower show was in progress.
One leaned over and said, "Life is so darned boring. We never have any
fun any more. For $5.00 I'd take my clothes off and streak through that
flower show!"
"You're on!" said the other old lady, holding up a $5.00 bill.
The first old lady slowly fumbled her way out of her clothes and,
completely naked, streaked (as fast as an old lady can) through the
front door of the flower show.
Waiting outside, her friend soon heard a huge commotion inside the
hall, followed by loud applause, and shrill
whistling.
The smiling and naked old lady came through the exit door surrounded by
a cheering crowd.
"What happened?" asked her waiting friend.
"I won 1st prize as Best Dried Arrangement."

Hydrangea yes, white spray roses will dry kind of ecru if they are immediately set aside and hung to dry. I think most white flowers will dry brown as they "wilt". We don't have a great number of the more exotic white flowers to play with (such as some of the Austrailian flowers or African flowers which I have heard will dry whiter). What about checking out dried suppliers to get a feel on what may dry white such as Knud Neilson?

First of all - the joke is HILARIOUS

Secondly - the only flower I know of that dries white is Gypsophilia (baby's breath)

I've seen pinkish-purple statice on my wholesaler's truck last week. I think it also comes in white. I know it dries well because a few months ago I got too lazy to add water to a dying arrangement and the statice did really well and looked the same dried up as it did fresh.

would ready preserved flowers work, the florissima range here in the UK has preserved roses, orchids, small calas, hydrangea and fillers that are perfect for this type of work- colours range from the purist of whites, to choclates and sky blue

There is another dried/ preserved supplier that has gorgeous flowers and product.....I do not know how to get their products though....It is a company called Verdissimo.

Depending on the season of the wedding - calcynia heather (pink or white), white heather, leptosporum (white or pink), riceflower, pink larkspur florets, pink hydrangea florets.

A really pretty look would be to make the base of gyp, and glue in some of the other flowers as an accent. I've done this before for communion halos, that the moms want to preserve and hang on the daughter's bedroom wall as a keepsake.

good luck!

Unless I'm misunderstanding the issue, why not suggest freeze-dried flowers to begin with? I understand the appeal for sentimental people to be able to dry their flowers after the ceremony, but it seems like if you're using fresh, just use what will be prettiest and if she's more focused on how they will look afterward, start with dried.
