The car barreled through the front wall destroyed all of the merchandise on the floor, hit a display cooler, then went through the back wall and almost hit the house on the other side.

The car appeared to have been going so fast that it went airborne
despite the mess, they remained open
Now that's an example of "takes and lickin' and keeps on tickin'"*

*For those of you under 40, it was a tag line of Timex watches from back in the day....

The same thing happened to a florist (now out of business) in a nearby town. The driver apparently took a curve too fast. It was in the middle of the night also.

Cathy, I remember the Timex commercials.

I had this happen to me when I worked for a florist. There were two sides to the flower shop divided by a wall. I was in one section and the car drove right through the front door..it sounded like a plane crash!!! I walked over, looked around the corner and there was a car in our display room.
Scared the crap out of me.
The lady thought she hit the brake and hit the gas instead.

Years ago, when we were a new Flower Shop...just about closing time, we heard a HUGE noise. We looked at the front of our store, and an older gentleman hit the front window of our store with his car. He also thought he had his foot on the brake, but it happened to be the gas instead. Luckily there was not much damage. I don't remember what his car looked like tho.
