Back in the day I use to as well, at one point we had a wholesaler that we would call to do all these drop in arrangments we would send a sample of what we were looking for and it was done very fast and easy with holiday's yes, but I would ask for a sample of them first to make sure it is no to heavy and also do one your self then to the price check that way..Those were the days on holidays, days gone bye, ..

Absolutely......saved our butts last Mother's Day, can't wait to get them in for Valentine's. Also Greenleaf.

getting them again this yer but closer to home at Sutton Ferneries in Miami...got them without sleeves and it saved a dime on each one..Just a thought...sure made it easier last two holidays.Cut one day/designer on schedule.

Gardens America also has a mixed greens and caspia filler package. Georgia State Wholesale is the closest one that I know of that handles Gardens America.

Jeff Corbin AIFD is the one who turned me on to those...... mixed types of eucalyptus and painted caspia fillers...... Saves a ton of time and effort.

You know, with all the knowledge, skills, and resources that I have access to........It is all denied to that shop that decided to terminate my employ. Doesn't seem fair in a way. Oh well, Se la Vie

We've been using Fern Trust, through Greenleaf for years. Absolutely a life saver. Makes holidays bearable, and when it's all said and done, you'll be amazed at the number of arrangements you are able to produce in no time at all! Love them, love them, love them!!!!!

I used them for Valentine's Day 2007. The bouquets I received were gorgeous and even included red ting ting. I special ordered them through Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist. Well worth the money. My designers loved them...saved tons of time in the design room! Designers don't have to fumble through a variety of boxes for mixed greens. IMO it also prevents wastage of greenery.

The other benefit not mentioned yet was the space they saved in our cooler. They were packed in slim boxes that were easily stored way up high in the cooler. We didn't have to store box after box of various greens that would usually take up a great deal of space in the cooler.

Here's another tip that I shared before with storing vased roses in your cooler to save space-we sleeve them after designing. We use plastic sleeves that you slide up over the vase and roses, attach card and delivery tag for driver. Saves oodles of space in your cooler, prevents breakage of the roses that are vased, and the package is already wrapped for your driver and ready to go! Each designer has the sleeves in their work area, and they are responsible for sleeving when the roses are vased. Works like a charm!

Dianne, Don't know if we got this idea from you or not. We sleeved our roses like this last year, what an incredible space saver!! We crammed our walk-in with vases and vases of arranged roses. With the saved space we were able to premake dozens to keep in the cooler for walk-in traffic. What a delight that was. No broken roses from the drivers either.
We did make up a special tag to put on the roses that were delivered that said something to the effect of 'your arrangement has been professionally designed, simply slit the sleeve from the bottom, etc, etc'
Drop in greens are a must for Valentine's day!!

We don't ever use the plastic sleeves on our arrangements. I was told that air can't circulate through them, they will accumulate moisture from the vase, and your flowers won't last as long. I bought a box of azalia sleeves, the woven white ones, and we re-use them. We are not in an area where our arrangements need to be wrapped for delivery-lucky us!!!! We've been doing this for 3 years now, and couldn't be happier with the results.

One of our college girls (she comes from a shop her father owns in another town) came up with the idea of wrapping a single row of wide satin ribbon around the dozens and 1/2 dozens. We had purchase a rack for wrapping our roses and going thru all that. But then she came up with the brilliant idea of the ribbon instead. It is so much faster! No worries about the roses sweating and no broken flowers either. Just need to remind drivers to tell recipeints to cut the ribbons when the get them in the door (we never did get arround to making cards). If nobody was home, we had the drivers do it for them.
