I am dropping Teleflora, but currently use their POS system. I am trying to decide the best option for a replacement POS. I really want a system that can help me beef up my marketing, as I feel this is crucial for survival. I also want something dependable and user friendly. I have been really impressed with the capabilities of Floristware, as well as MAS direct. I was hoping I could get some honest feedback (good and bad) so I can make the best decision possible. Also--if anyone has switched and knows if its possible to transfer customer records from one system to the other?? Thanks for all your help!

when you drop Teleflora, just make sure you're standing at the edhe of a VERY high cliiff and that FTD will be waiting at the bottom so they both get crushed:fdevil:

I'm partial to MAS myself and would highly recommend it for any shop large or small.

Mark over at Floristware is a good guy too, and so is his offering. You won't go wrong with either one.

I strongly recommend Floral Accounting Systems.

www.FASinc.org their site is not very flashy, but their system is robust, comprehensive, stable and their customer service is second to none. They are also, fully compatible with merc and dove if you use either of those. The orders go directly into the system and print out just like an order you typed in. Well, except it has the typos from the stellar customer service reps at FTD.com

Their POS also have full inventory controls, labor, accounting, will even print W2s for you.

Thanks everyone for the replies. There are a couple more systems mentioned I haven't even looked at yet....As a follow up question, does anyone use their respective systems customer loyalty/rewards program? Also, does anyone use their system to send special promotions via text or email? Thanks again everyone!

I use floristware's rewards program. They earn 5% of their purchase plus 500 bonus credits for their first purchase ($5.00). Every point = $1.00 the way we have it set up. They people really love it. We have folks ask if they have any points built up when they come back in. We also use it at holidays to remind them to use us next holiday and cash in their points. Right now for homecoming we tell them the points will help them save at prom time.

We actually export the email names so we can do our own email marketing. We find this is a nice tool and love the easy way it's set up. We just make an xtml excel document and then use constant contact to add it to the list we have built. Over the year we have used floristware we have built a nice sized list.

Rick, I really need to look at it more. I like mine pretty and showy LOL so it's just figuring out how to make it that way. Once I do that I will be all set. Also I like how Constant Contact lets people unsubscribe and I don't have to keep track of that info.

Lori,

Those are some of the ideas i wanted to use too, so its really helpful to know that it works well and people like it! If you dont mind sharing, what do the earned points do for people? If I spent $50 and got 50 points, what would I be able to redeem them for at your store? Do you go with a dollar value? (100 points = $10 off) or do you use it for a percentage off? (100 points = 10% off) etc?

We do $ so if you get the 500 bonus points for your first purchase you would get $5.00 off your next purchase. We allow them to accumulate their points up to $25.00. Once they hit that we ask them to cash them in. Also we exclude weddings from points. Maybe we do 10% hehe I don't remember how I set it up, I will have to check. So you are earning .05 to .10 for each $1.00 you spend. Better then most credit cards :)

Thanks Lori! I think this will be a HUGE competitive advantage for us as well. All our competitors are very old-school and none of them are on the cutting edge. I truly believe that dropping WS and ramping up our marketing will put us light-years ahead of everyone else. This is one tool that I think will be really helpful. People love earning free stuff.

Another way we use it, we run a customer referral program twice a year, if they refer someone to us, once they purchase, then we credit their account 500 points. Everything in today's marketing plans should "pay rewards" geared. We also offer double points if during the holidays (busiest times) if they order on website after certain. Hour to compete with the OG with that one.....

I LOVE the referral idea...hadn't thought of that one. How do you track it though? Does the customer tell you about it? Or is there a way to put it in the system? You use floristware also, correct?
