Been in the biz for almost 27 years , was asked the dumbest question ever this morning, really pissed the lady off when I started laughing. Answered the phone , lady says " I found a bag of catnip in the cupboard , must be a couple of years old , is it still alright to feed it to my 2 cats." Me" Ma'am you don't feed it to your cats , you put it in something and they sniff it" , " Well I feed it to mine and they eat it" , "well ma'am its only a herb can't see how it could hurt them " "Aren't you a plant guy", " well we do sell some , but not catnip" ,"why don't you know if its okay" " Ma'am I'm not an expert on feeding herbs to animals , why don't you call the vet" ," I did, they don't know either , they suggested that I call you", " well Ma'am maybe you should try the agricultural dept. or maybe the spca" "Well I'm surprised that a flower person wouldn't know this", " sorry ma'am that's something I've never had the chance to learn " " why not" ," in all the years I've been in flowers you are the first person to ask this" " why" , " because you're probably the only person feeding it to their cats" thats when I started to giggle and she started to curse on me, anyway ranks as the stupidest question I've ever been asked, so far.

We have a ton of cats and have had over the years ...... dried catnip is used only to fill a toy or rub on a scratching post to make them go ballistic ..... I have seen it grown in the garden (for the purpose of drying later) and seen cats take a nip or two but as far as I know and would do to my cats ... they would never ingest it. They might go really nutty and never come down off the ceiling. Plus anyone with a brain has seen reports about humans ingesting herbs and that too much of anything is bad for you.
But isn't it amazing that people think we know absolutely everything there is to know on this earth?!?!? If we knew all, we'd all have the winning loto numbers and be sitting on our own private islands.
I have had people call us for a good insurance company, babysitting care, and to help with their car tires. Boggles the mind sometimes eh?!?!?
