Has anyone ever successfully dyed dendrobium orchids? I need a coral pink shade. I know they come in that color, but I am thinking it would be cheaper to buy white and dye them, assuming it will work. Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Dying works...to a point....

How we do it...

When the drobs are received, we remove the water tubes and celo, lay them out on a counter for 3-4-5 hours until they are somewhat dehydrated then recut and place into a vase with stem dye a little darker than the desired color. We leave them out of the cooler for 1-2 days in the dye, or less if the change sooner.

One thing you will notice, is the veins will turn fairly quickly, but the rest of the flower takes longer resulting in shading. Often we then *touch up* with Design Master Floral Tint to blend the color more...

Seems darker colors work better, with Peach resulting in Orange...

YO "J"....got any suggestions?

Also, at least in my area, pre-dyed drobes do not cost anymore than naturla, might be worth checking....

We have also had great luck with Amy's Orchids!
The colors are fabulous and nto very expensive.
