I don't use ebay often enough tounderstand their system. But I am getting e-mail from them saying they have to verify my information before they can process any more orders through e-bay. I clicked on the link they send with this e-mail and it brought me to a e-bay page, and then another window open for information. Basicaly they ask for my e-bay name and password and also name, address, etc and credit card information including what's on the back of the credit card. I am very leary of this and is wondering if I am right, that I am possibly could be a victim here of fraud?. Is anyone else receive this kind of e-mail?

Any htoughts?

It could be a fraud email, you would have to look carefully at the Email address etc. As a Canadian when you register you have to verify your information with a credit card, US users don't have this problem. (At least it was that way when I registered with Ebay)

Perhaps Ryan could provide more information on this, as he sells alot on Ebay and is Canadian.

I havn't received a email from Ebay other than Promotions they have to list your items for less money etc.

Ditto on the don't respond

That E-bay scam hit the US about 2 months ago.
Just put that message in the recycle bin.

Yeah, Don't do it!!
There are others for earthlink.net and sites like that they never ask those questions.

One more ditto ... If you fill in your details you'll be in the next Citi Bank voice-over commercial talking about your $1500 bra :)

<Reference to really cool Identity Theft commercials on, not to Luc's preferences!!> ;)

OK thanks Guys, I had a feeling it was because of the information they ask for.

As a general rule - anyone who asks for my VISA or M/C number gets tossed in the delete pile. They bug me almost as much as those da*n money messages about Africa - I can just picture the new round - bet you they feature Haiti.

LOL with Ariside at the helm in central Africa...he was kidnapped after all.

Yea, that's what I thought too. The problem with puppet governments is they tend to want to cut the strings.

Of course you know I meant ArisTide...I apparently decided to cut the T. ;)
