Besides putting a generic $10 local delivery fee in the checkout process when someone is ordering on your website to be delivered locally, are there any other ways to do this? I am goign to upgrade from the bbrooks form to an actual cart and my local delivery range, ranges from $7 to $50.

I guess I could divide the area up into 3 choices which list all cities within the 3 choices and just choose an average, but I am new to this and was hoping you had a better solution.

Thanks for your time. :)

My TF site has a back office with all zipcodes that I have programmed at each correct price plus the 3 dollar per order fee....Then a default if no zip is given which defaults to wire out which is a 10 dollar delivery plus my service fee....not sure if your cart will have these capabilities...

TY Lori :)

You're very welcome...

We have zoned delivery by ZIP, and I modified our cart to lookup the zip in the datase and assign the correct delivery fee.

Sweet guys! Ty :) - This is a new territory for me and am doing my homework first. Just found out SSL = only $50 a year... I remember the last I looked like 7 years ago it was like $100 a month. lol

It's important to approach this as a customer, as well. Often, simple = better.

My suggestion is one or two flat rates, with optional services levels. Average it out across your service area, weighting the more popular areas.

Then, give them a rush / by noon option for more $$, and the "&$%#$ it's my anniversary" rate for $$$$.

Instead of being remembered for a dozen different fees for the same service level, be remembered as the guys who can handle the "&$%#$ it's my anniversary" occasions. Even if they don't choose it, you've now advertised that you can do it.

Paula,

The design team has your project now and we're expecting it back any time. Far as I know, you're off the hook for the moment.

Oh no, just what i feared..... everytime i think of the logistics, my eyes go cross eyed and my brain goes all fuzzy...:spin oh well off the hook for now at least, now all you have to do is stop calling them zip codes and start calling them post codes lol.
